  3. Hi all. I’m looking for the photos taken up chappies climb by the gentlemen in the photo I captured via my GoPro. He doesn’t look like an action photos SA photographer. (Normally in high visibility vest) The stepping into the road during a climb doesn’t bother me🤣 just want to see what photo he captured so I could post it in social media. 😝 IG: Jm_Rides_Bikes
  4. Why not both? I recently put a gravel groupset on a 2013 29er Hardtail and its effing awesome! (PS. its also steel! ) with your budget you should easily be able to build up a VERY cool hybrid gravel bike from a used hardtail. (EDIT: 1. the fork helps with bumps and you can lock it out on the road. 2. The wide and tall 29er tyres also absorb some of the bumps. (a lot of research done regarding rolling resistance and tyres Check out GMBN and GCN on youtube) 3. Its cool and different and fun. do you need any more motivation Lastly chat to @RobertWhitehead He builds bikes for clients and would definitely be able to assist )

  6. @amberctak@gmail.com I have this 54cm for sale. With maxxis refuse commuting tyres already fitted. reason for selling I prefer gravel and MTB
  7. Howzit, I recently watched a couple videos on YouTube about chain waxing(one linked below) and think it’s great but I’m struggling to find all the necessary hot melt wax lubricant beads or the strip chip as shown in the video. I like how he suggested that you can make a quick chain hanger with wood and angle brackets. Will do something similar. I already found a cheap wax warmer on Takealot https://www.takealot.com/pro-wax-100-wax-warmer/PLID70397760 Any references or links to necessary parts or products would be appreciated 🚲 TIA Video:
  8. Personally never had this experience with the Thule Express 2. the clamp of the bike rack has a perfect notched out portion and this keeps the rack from moving. there are 3 pre-drilled holes for the hinge mechanism to add more clamping force. Mine is still bolted on the first set of holes. perhaps you could move the hinges to the next set of holes? Will post a pic later
  9. Wow this is awesome! Well done! I just built up my first bike from a bare frame and now, with this inspiration, building a bike from steel tubes seems the natural progression😅. You said there are more photos please do post them we’d love to see😁
  10. Chat to Dominic from Summit Bikes. He can help you with building a groupset that will work for you. Including for example cable actuated hydraulic brake callipers. See below
  11. I do actually have them just forgot to have them on the bike while taking pics. See below. also will include the seat post clamp. I was told the bike was closer to 30/35k new. Had 120mm travel front and rear with twin lock system and dropper post. 1x12 drive train sram SX
  12. I have a Scott spark 960 XL frame (front and rear triangle) I used the bike as a donor of components. how much would be a fair amount to sell it for? Keep the below in mind: the rear is QR but a boost spacing(so no thru-axle, has PF bottom bracket (with ID for Dub crankset) has all grommets and bearings has headset cups but no bearings I also have the wheelset that came with the bike which is as mentioned boost but rear is QR and front is thru-axle boost.

  14. This would be the best based on your minimum requirement, however if you start to enjoy indoor training you would soon want to upgrade. So keep that in mind.
  15. What was the starting weight? And were you able to finish it? Keen to see some pics
  16. Hey Hubbers, anyone got a USED tapered steerer tube rigid 29er fork to go on a hardtail boost or non boost but cannot be quick release. let me know 👍🏼
  17. I had a volcan 26er not long back that it rode for race to the sun in 2020. Sold it late last year but interesting to see the brand back in ZA.

  19. Hi Hubbers, So this video is a year old now but has anyone here built/welded/carbon lay up a frame together from scratch? If so please do share details and pics😁 I don't currently have the tool-set but think it would still be an awesome project.
