  1. Will be selling them for R100
  2. HI @Jokerman, I've been 3d printing mud guards. lekker solid however don't have the ability to print dual colour. the cool thing with 3d printing is you can customize the shape alot. how was the logo put on previously? vinyl sticker or print/ink
  3. @Rudi Pollard how does this look? Will this just be a spacer between arm rests and bar mount? Essentially a functional washer? Don’t want you falling off because of this. #signindemnityformhere Temporarily threaded bolts into plastic. Will add brass threaded inserts. (PS it’s still a work in progress.)
  4. Sup @Rudi Pollard why not 3D print it. I can help with that, Drop me a DM if you are interested
  5. In 2023 the Cape Epic hosted a kids race at the grande finale at val de vie. I entered my, 4 year old, daughter in to it and she loved it! Since then she has asked for more races like it and I saw there was one at the paarl bike fest but that has been postponed and subsequently canceled 😕 Are there other events out there hosting fun races for little kids? Not "real racing" but something where they get a medal and get to challenge themselves.
  6. Thanks for the feedback! I and yet to get that specific spec but I have the 29er 2.2 and love them for all gravel and general trail riding.
  7. I have a 12s XT RH shifter that has the mount that attaches to a brake mount. Does anyone have a broken shifter or the “Normal Clamp Mount”
  8. It was my first K2C too. It was a tough ride but loved every bit of it! I can concur wrt the rocky terrain, I rode it with a @Titan Racing Bikes Switch Gravel bike. Descending was rough! haha biggest issue on my side were my Vitoria terreno dry tyres 38c. You definitely want a grippier tyre with higher volume and more tread. Looking at Maxxis Rambler or Kenda Booster Pro 700cx40c for my next gravel race Terreno Dry will be my training tyre.
  9. What an incredible event! Looking forward to next year's edition. Thanks @Zandile Meneses and team!

What distance are you looking to do? I have ebike conversion kit that can be thrown on any* existing MTB/Gravel. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/e-bike-frames-and-parts/698231/500w-e-bike-kit-extra-battery
  11. I've entered the ceder 245 happening on the 5th of October. Wondering if TT bars are allowed for the race? #askingforafriend 😜
  12. Got the below for sale if anyone is interested. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/gravel-bikes/719407/rook-scout-with-custom-parts

  14. Hi all. I’m looking for the photos taken up chappies climb by the gentlemen in the photo I captured via my GoPro. He doesn’t look like an action photos SA photographer. (Normally in high visibility vest) The stepping into the road during a climb doesn’t bother me🤣 just want to see what photo he captured so I could post it in social media. 😝 IG: Jm_Rides_Bikes
  15. Why not both? I recently put a gravel groupset on a 2013 29er Hardtail and its effing awesome! (PS. its also steel! ) with your budget you should easily be able to build up a VERY cool hybrid gravel bike from a used hardtail. (EDIT: 1. the fork helps with bumps and you can lock it out on the road. 2. The wide and tall 29er tyres also absorb some of the bumps. (a lot of research done regarding rolling resistance and tyres Check out GMBN and GCN on youtube) 3. Its cool and different and fun. do you need any more motivation Lastly chat to @RobertWhitehead He builds bikes for clients and would definitely be able to assist )
  16. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/commuter-bikes/687372/rook-one-chromo-pearl-white
  17. @amberctak@gmail.com I have this 54cm for sale. With maxxis refuse commuting tyres already fitted. reason for selling I prefer gravel and MTB
  18. Howzit, I recently watched a couple videos on YouTube about chain waxing(one linked below) and think it’s great but I’m struggling to find all the necessary hot melt wax lubricant beads or the strip chip as shown in the video. I like how he suggested that you can make a quick chain hanger with wood and angle brackets. Will do something similar. I already found a cheap wax warmer on Takealot https://www.takealot.com/pro-wax-100-wax-warmer/PLID70397760 Any references or links to necessary parts or products would be appreciated 🚲 TIA Video:
  19. Personally never had this experience with the Thule Express 2. the clamp of the bike rack has a perfect notched out portion and this keeps the rack from moving. there are 3 pre-drilled holes for the hinge mechanism to add more clamping force. Mine is still bolted on the first set of holes. perhaps you could move the hinges to the next set of holes? Will post a pic later
  20. Wow this is awesome! Well done! I just built up my first bike from a bare frame and now, with this inspiration, building a bike from steel tubes seems the natural progression😅. You said there are more photos please do post them we’d love to see😁
  21. Chat to Dominic from Summit Bikes. He can help you with building a groupset that will work for you. Including for example cable actuated hydraulic brake callipers. See below
  22. I do actually have them just forgot to have them on the bike while taking pics. See below. also will include the seat post clamp. I was told the bike was closer to 30/35k new. Had 120mm travel front and rear with twin lock system and dropper post. 1x12 drive train sram SX
  23. I have a Scott spark 960 XL frame (front and rear triangle) I used the bike as a donor of components. how much would be a fair amount to sell it for? Keep the below in mind: the rear is QR but a boost spacing(so no thru-axle, has PF bottom bracket (with ID for Dub crankset) has all grommets and bearings has headset cups but no bearings I also have the wheelset that came with the bike which is as mentioned boost but rear is QR and front is thru-axle boost.
