  1. I picked up a Titan 20" 6 speed (rear only) with front shock for my 6 year old (was a 2nd hand from Linden, got a good deal on it), and he loves it. my 7 year old has an avalanche 24" 6 x 3, we go riding quite often, whether its dirt roads and fields around where i live or a spruit ride (we do from Fratellis to Emmerentia on a weekend morning). Yeah... they are heavy, but kids have boundless energy, and they shoot off up embankments and back down, through every puddle, never a straight ride. Just a note: you can NEVER outgrow a 12" or 16" bike. (note: airbrushed to maintain a certain hubber's anonymity )
  2. chosen one. weeeeooooooweeeeeeeooooo
  3. No, it's not a tall rider thing. there's been plenty of discussion about this - its the length of the crank shaft and frame - your height doesn't really matter much with wheel size, except for when you're putting your feet down. frame and crank are the main factors.
  4. ya, congrats. I rode 4 or 5 times on a really entry-level 26 and did a lot of reading before i got my 29er. went from enjoying riding somewhat to f***ing loving it!
  5. sounds lekker *tentatively yes*
  6. i just got spammed!
  7. thanks for all the feedback, great to know its just a magnet, makes life easy and the tips are invaluable.
  8. ok cool, I'll check it out. I had the sensor tied on with a cable tie, but it snapped off during the bail.
  9. oh, cool, thanks.
  10. In a recent attempt at flight during the omni-motion this weekend, i lost the cadence sensor from a Garmin 305 - the sensor part that is attached to the pedal (I still have the GSC10 module). Is it possible to just get the cadence sensor on its own? If so, where? I checked on easygis, and the closest I can find to it is http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_135_136_212&products_id=800 - is that the sensor I am looking for?
  11. yup, me 3.
  12. they should mention up to 78th. more or less.
  13. I wasn't saying it wasn't easily findable. If I needed it, I would have asked and sure it would have been located with ease. It was great to have the phone off for a while and charging up anything didn't feature on my todo list by 10pm saturday. Next time I'll bring my swedish massage chair and make sure its powered though. talking about which... massages for next year event would go down well, I am sure.
  14. Had to leave at 4pm on Saturday, and got back at 7pm, armed with a KFC boxmaster - went down like a homesick mole. Didn't even notice lack of catering
  15. no it wasn't! I was forced to sleep by lack of light. mmmkay.
  16. First ride @ VG this weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed it (after walking away from cradle quest last weekend). Managed to get in 11 laps. Most I've done in a single weekend is probably about 40km over 2 days, so am pleased with this result. Not even hurting that much today, besides my shoulder, where I did the superman attempt while cornering on gravel about 6km into the route. Front wheel lost traction and flew about 3m, still cleated. Was an awesome trail and organization was great, from a relative noob (been riding for a few months). Only thing that I didn't notice was the charging station. I would have looked the other way if someone pointed it out, "light batteries are flat" was a good excuse to crawl into the tent for the night at about 10:30. Quick question: is VG open for rides on random weekends? would be great if I could bring the kids through to give them something a little more challenging than the spruit. Another thanks to the organizers for this. 1 of my kids won a lego kit, and my arm was twisted into building it with em when we got home yesterday evening, when I would have rather been sleeping. They didn't stop talking about it on the way in to school this morning. Saw 4 okes riding back about 4 or 5km from Van Gaalens. madness.
  17. I heard from the paramedics that he lost his 2 front teeth and had quite bad gum damage. **edit** premature response :s
  18. Where will the results be posted? http://results.omni-motion.co.za/category.html - can't find the server at results.omni-motion.co.za.

  24. I went past Linden after bailing last Saturday and had it plugged, ended up being a small hole and still usable. thanks
