  6. I'm riding it anyway, but hopping on at the William Nicol Pick n Pay section. (Car-los day tomorrow). AM Ride: 7:15 - Grab a coffee at the Caltex / Fresh Stop on Witkoppen (just before Leslie). Ride up Witkoppen hop onto the Spruit. Head through to William Nicol. PM Ride: Get to William Nicol (Pick n Pay) around 16:50, 17h00 head up the Spruit back to Paulshof and back along Witkoppen, possibly stop at the O Hagans for a cold one. If there's a group heading through from Fratelli's side, I'll hang around at William Nicol to join up, if anyone wants to join from there, feel free. I'll have uncoordinated lycra, black mtb shoes and hairy legs, riding a Silverback 29er (that doesn't make me go faster), bru. (just to clarify R.S.C.S.).

  14. I love my MTB... especially when it's going really fast on dirt.
  15. thanks for the headsup Found a calculator. http://www.ebicycles...r/mountain-bike and 1 or 2 others too.. definitely seems like I should be on a 19" or so, and the link above also suggests a 180mm crank (current is 175mm).Christmas shopping time for myself
  16. i was kinda hoping no-one would ask that. ended up having the spec's printed on the post as MCipollini suggested. I had just never raised it above the max height mark before its a 31.6 x 400mm, but still a bit short, I need about 20mm extra on it, but worried about damage of raising it above the max mark. Probably need to upgrade the frame, its a silverback medium, which equates to 16.5", so probably need a large... I've read that if you are going higher than 400mm, it could cause frame damage due to the amount of leverage, though if I could get hold of a 420mm, that might just be enough.
  17. need to let Roeks know today, I'll PM you contact details to let me know of numbers from your side, and then check back here about 3pm to consolidate.
  18. thanks, its 31.6
  19. i spoke to Mogallywood yesterday - they can do breakfasts too if we arrange in advance. R50 for bacon, eggs, tomato, sausage, etc (English breakfast) with coffee and toast. Beer obviously available too. We just need to let them know if we are going to stop, and an estimate on numbers for breakfast. Anyone keen on this pit stop en route back home?
  20. gonna be done early for once today. probably do a ride around 3:30ish or so. leaving office now (pm if you wanna join).
  21. anyone riding the spruit this afternoon?
  22. I have a silverback vida 5 frame (2012), and am looking for a new seatpost, but not 100% sure of the diameter. I've been to the silverback site, and don't see the spec there - http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011_website_SILVERBACK/vida5.htm 30.9? Here's the a pic of my frame: https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=hubmarket&attach_id=154879 Don't have the bike with me at the moment, so can't physically measure it. looking for a 400mm post for it (if anyone has one lying around, pm please )
  23. heya eren, I'm not sure if there's a drop off at that bridge, but there's a crossing near belgrave, just off The River that would probably be better. My first ride on that section of the spruit this morning thanks to all. was quite busy, saw probably 20+ riders before 6 this morning. dirren't realise it was so popular. and in other news... it finally happened. My first de-cleating incident while trying to cross the river, i thought I could get up the rock. lost grip. no witnesses was a bit of a shin-dig.
