So a mate of mine just called me; He stoopidly took his bike to Spez concept store Melrose arch for a major service on a soft tail he bought there about a year ago.... Without quoting, they go and "service"the bike and call him with the invoice amount; R5500!!!! Includes; - R2,000 for servicing front and rear suspension - R3,500 for replacing big chainring and rear cassette - Oh and it aint no top spec bike either. SRAM X7 / Shimano XT components. Does anyone other then me think that is a little bit more than excessive???!!!

What tyres you using? Trainer tyre - if not this is possibly your problem - you need a rubber compound that doesn't get too hot. Also maybe you have the roller set too hard against the rear tyre. It just has to touch the rear tyre enough so that the tyre doesn't slip when pedaling.

Not sure - I know club 100 are fixing potholes. Perhaps some of those family members of yours living in the area would be willing / or know of someone that is involved with the local community to try and clean up a bit? And or engage with clubs like club 100 to partner in this. That way it's a win for all involved.

Also an issue worth noting - those "beautiful cycling lanes" at various points on the route are littered with rubble, stones and glass. Someone also need to maintain those cycling lanes. EDIT: Oh - and I don't condone rude inconsiderate riding, I'm the first one to say something when guys ride more than 2 abreast or even too far into the road. But the state of the riding lanes is an issue that needs considering.

Dropped from VA at 70kms in, boys were angry! Rode last 50kms alone.... 3:14, live to fight another day.

I agree with you 100% Jarrad. Way to much unhealthy ingredients in some of these supplements - studies have proven that sugar (in all it's forms) is not only addictive but that the high doses that are present in most processed foods and supplements can actually lead to diabetes, etc etc. I'm glad you had the b@lls to take them on. Pity about the aggression you got from them. As a consumer, I would like to see USN taking constructive criticism and using it to improve their product offering, not attacking you and threatening legal action. As for his 25 followers comment, he might end up ruing that.

Buy 6ft trailor, then call Mark Strijdom at Strides to build a bike rack and mount it on your trailor. 082 855 3005 He built mine, very professional, well priced and they come to you to collect and drop off your trailor. I bought a 6 ft trailor from Makro for R4k on special and the bike rack and all fittings etc cost about 4k.

hey Tim have to say well done to you guys on getting that single track next to the river in such good condition. Last year I lost my sense of humor on what seemed like a beach, but this year I had a BEEG smile on my face riding the smooth, flowing, winding little piece of heaven.
