http://www.yr.no/place/South_Africa/Gauteng/Sandton/long.html Weather is going to be fine - stop moaning. And.... IF it isn't, I suggest a dose of HTFU..... a little bit of wind and rain ain't gonna kill you. A hurricane or super storm maybe....

We're just missing the start area (going around via witkoppen / bowling / western service road) - then just jump on before they get onto the M2.
  3. Because it is C-H-E-A-T-I-N-G..... How would you feel if someone used a motorised bicycle in a race against you. Bottom line is many of us train damn hard to get results and take offence when the rules of the game are broken. And why would you want to take it anyway if you weren't competitive or you didn't want to do well - you can't sell me on taking it just for the fun of it?? And in doing so you will be throwing mud in the eyes of all the clean riders out there. You wanna take other supplements that are borderline, I don' t really care because at an amateur level the % difference they make is minimal - EPO is a game changer though, it turns donkeys into prize winning race horses.
  4. I wonder.... given the hype and controversy surrounding the sport and doping right now, due to Lance etc, is there a chance that CSA and the anti doping authority might launch an investigation into doping in SA cycling, some sort of a Truth and Recon committee? - DG tells all??? EDIT - I mean lets face it, DG surely isnt the only one doping...
  5. +1 Well done Liam
  6. Must say, Alex is a very pleasant guy - perhaps he should just give Liam a nice BIG wrap on the knuckles and be done with it.... and perhaps Liam should post some sort of a retraction / apology.
  7. Opinion - If you take EPO as an amateur cyclist... you are an.... well actually I can't think up an insult even close to being severe enough to adequately articulate what you are.....
  8. Geez when will people learn. Wait, i just had a GREAT business idea! Open a training academy / consultancy for bicycle retailers and service shops; - Module 101: How to interact with potential customers - Module 102: How to use online forums - Module 103: How to deliver on promises Im gonna be reech I tell you, reeech!!!!! Any ideas for additional modules will be welcomed...

Anyone received info on their reseed requests yet?
  14. Bernard, Safe for kids and way better than USN!
  15. The word you were looking for was "illogical"
  16. Anton, My name is mike - not hard to find out who I am. 3 towers post made that easy. Anyways, we should be able to have discussions on a forum without attacking each other. From someone that read the twitter posts and this thread, it doesn't seem like Jarrad has acted without integrity to me. I think that consumerism is a good thing, for all of us. Guys like Jarrad who will go out there at the risk of getting flamed or sued to keep food, pharma and nutrition companies honest or at least on their toes can only be a good thing - for all of us. What would these companies have to fear if they were questioned behind closed doors as opposed to a public forum? It isn't a regulated industry, so a public debate is a good informal regulatory tool.
  17. How exactly has he shown a lack of integrity. Help ME understand please. Jarrad has been very clear, consistent and calm in all of his responses. (And no I don't know the guy). But what I admire is that he wasn't afraid to take on one of the big guys - just because something is marketed and sold in a shop doesn't mean it's legitimate or that us as consumers should just accept it. Much like McDonald's claiming to sell healthy food. USN have made some pretty inflated claims - fact USN have been subject of controversy with regards to content - fact CEO did not handle the issue with sufficient professionalism - Fact Seems to me that Jarad has acted with the upmost integrity in his approach, introducing himself on the hub and the way he handled himself on that twitter war. He doesn't seem to lack integrity in my mind, but hey this a forum and opinions are allowed. But maybe saying that someone has no integrity is bordering on a personal attack - see slowbee's post.
  18. I think as a broader issue, and especially in this digital, online age the need for CEO's and spokesman of companies to be tactful in their responses and dealings with the general public is higher then ever before. USN CEO could have actually won many supporters by replying with something like this; - Dear Jarad "Many of your comments and concerns around supplementation in general are valid and are of concern to us too. Can I suggest that we engage with you on this to try and relieve your concerns and perhaps even gain an understanding of how we can better our product offering" Damage control in 2 sentences. It's the same as retail shops that respond with aggression when taken to task on bad service. If they just put the customer and their image first they would no doubt win a loyal customer + many more due to the online nature of the complaints. I think most people on this thread are just taking exception to the way Albe (A CEO) and spokesperson for USN responded. Could have been handled so much better.
  19. Well he just did his first 100km ride at crater. So take on average 50-60kms per week for one year. 3000Kms MAX?
  20. No you didn't. Maybe in your mind you did, but you didn't. And I have two witnesses to confirm this. So you are right, 2 sides, your side and your skitzo side.
  21. You need to check your records - the bike was bought at the end of last year (Nov/Dec 2011) on sale!!!!! Its a 2010 model, but was bought NEW!! I was there! AND he rides on average once a week on it. Twice max.
  22. Good question - the bike is just under a year old and has been serviced there before. For the record, they did NOT do the tubeless conversion. The customer had this done when the bike was bought. All they needed to do was top up the slime. Also is R5113 excl VAT, because my mate swears he paid R5600 all in. Anyways, you budding mechanics out there, you know what things cost. You decide.
  23. There were a few bearings replaced and they must have replaced the chain if they did cassette and chainring. But still, R5500 - I just can't get there.
  24. Admittedly, it sounds like I did bite without being too provoked, but this was a build up of a string of bad experiences with them; to name just a few; - December last year; remote cable to front shock snapped. I dropped the bike off with them and asked if they could fix it before I went away 4 days later. No problem they said. 3 Days later I went to go and collect the bike and to my surprise (a bad one), the mechanic had gone on leave without fixing my bike. No phone call, no time to make other arrangements before going away. - Numerous attempts at trying to get stock through them, with no phone calls, follow up nada. - I work in Melrose Arch so I would from time to time go in and follow up face to face. And every time I walked in I was still a stranger, and they seemed more surprised than I was when I asked about the stock I ordered a few weeks back. So my first post was the culmination of MANY bad experiences there and I decided to vote with my wallet and not to go back. And my second post yesterday was the experience of a good friend of mine, relatively new to cycling, whom they tried to rip off beyond what I could actually believe (R5500 for a bicycle service - not a bike, A SERVICE!!!). And that is my final rant about this.
