  1. According to Tyler he was..... dangerous
  2. Depends! Gotta try and be outta there by 12ish. Just about used up all my pinkslips from the Mrs already this year. But will definitely hang around the finish for a little while after.
  3. Surfer chickie and wonder woman - would you mind too much to give a brief description of how you two lovely ladies look - the thought of this fight heating up between the 2 of you is getting all of us l@ds a little excited -
  4. Doesn't matter how fast I go, I still can't seem to get to the finish fast enough! Must say, crater is my bogey race, always suffer there.
  5. Dude last year after crater on hard tail 26er I was so g@tvol that I went straight to the car, loaded the bike and got outta there! Vowed never to ride it again on a 26er hardtail. And now dummy over here is back, but this time with 29 inches.... still a hard tail though.
  6. Methinks I would prefer some rain before tomorrow, would soften the blow of the corrugations somewhat. Wishing I owned a soft tail.
  7. As far as competitive goes, I think I'm not far off. Yes I race VA and yes I'm a competitive sub vet on the mtb. And no I still don't care that some amateur (Hypocrites) dope. Kudos to them and their small willies.
  8. Guys honestly, carry on getting your knickers in a twist over this. My comment was merely that getting so p'd off about these "Hypocrites" (SV, thanks for the education) is utterly pointless. Obviously you okes have some kind of an inferiority complex about these "hypocrites always kicking ur a$$'s, and can't tolerate anyone trying to tone down the anger that you are feeling towards these "hypocrites" (thanks again for the education SV). My comment was originally as a result of dangle's numerous comments on these "hypocrites"(did i say thanks before for the education SV??).... and allowing them to rile you up to that extent isn't worth while, because in the end they aren't really achieving anything great (stroke the ego and get bankrupt so that you can beat your mates) Anyways, your extensive education seems to be far greater than mine, and my attempt to not allow myself to get infuriated by those darn "h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-e-s"- (btw thanks for the education swiss van) is utterly stoopid, because I too should be insensed that these doping HYPOCRITE amateurs are winning races. But sadly I don't care, and I will make sure that I don't voice my opinion amongst guys who clearly do care ALOT.
  9. yeah I guess, so. just thinks thats even sadder. to go to that extreme to get one up on your non elite buddies just to stroke the ol' ego, while KNOWING that you aint all that without the juice. Sad isn't it. Pity them, don't get mad at them.
  10. Dude no one is here is that naive surely. But all I'm saying is this; basic economics; How much according to you does one need to spend to get doped up? +/- R3-5k per quarter / per 6 months? vs Prize money for racing vets - R1000 - R3000 per race?? Doesn't seem very lucrative to me.(not to mention the yet to be quantified effects on the body and their medical bills) Clearly the doping has affected their sense of basic economics, so I say if they wanna be stoopid and cheat, well done to em.
  11. Maybe I am missing the point dude. My opinion is that if the local yocals wanna cheat to win small races, so be it. I train hard and race hard and do my best every im out. By them going faster it just drives me to train harder. Should CSA test prize winners, probably yes. Will I lose sleep over night if they dont, probably no. And all them drugged up locals screaming for a clean sport, well, remember a guy called Elliot Spitzer?
  12. Good income earners from racing sub vet...? what races are they doing??? Seriously, the prize money in SA in them little races is well, little. I say if they wanna cheat then let them. It all comes home to roost eventually. The body has ways of reacting to foreign substances over time.
  13. If you read the secret race, the term "not normal"was used alot, with reference to performances that were er... really really good (read superhuman). Any performances here in SA that come to mind that were er "not normal"??

  15. Don't think seeding is by age group. It's all on past results. I'm starting A if I even start. Still deciding whether or not to do this one. Legs still a little spent after 3 towers
  16. and some stuff to feed your hungry rubbish bin with
  17. Doesn't matter too much where you start in this race - A to C, you can ride a good time regardless. No matter which bunch you in the guys ride hard until the half way stop and then bonk anyway, so just latch onto the fast guys (w-h-e-e-l s-u-c-k) in your bunch and then the 2nd half of the race is all up to you. And don't feel bad for adopting this roadie strategy because the before mentioned racers would have bonked halfway anyway
  18. That about sums it up.
  19. from the book - the irony is that one of the doctors apparently insinuated that lance's cancer was as a result of doping....
  20. Good to know! Might just use that entry I bought after all
  21. Tim is the singletrack next to the river rideable this year or is it still a sandpit?
  22. And then Vinny butchered me on day 3..... I was bleeding from my eyeballs!!! Great event. Great food, great organization.... tough route. Good times!
  23. Finished it two days ago, must say Lance comes across as someone I wouldn't want to know. If what Tyler writes is true, I hope lance gets what's coming to him.
  24. Well done on the drop off, good idea lining it with a wooden mat. Had great fun there on saturday.
