  1. Was there sunday, place really is looking great. much more single track. Good fun!
  2. Thanks guys. I do have distance and cadence sensors on and working. Timer just won't work indoors?!!
  3. Bought my wife a Bryton 35T on the groupon special a little while back. Did the software upgrade, set ups etc. works great out on the road, problem is when she tries to use it on a stationery trainer no matter what I do I can't get it to start timing the workout. Anyone else used theirs on a trainer and had the same problem? Is there a fix?
  4. if you don't name the guy no one here can help you.
  5. Sandpit next to the river might just help me make my mind up on this one...... a couple of years back its was actually a fun flowing single track. Now one needs a bucket and spade to have fun there
  6. Hmmm, weekend after 3 towers - to do or not to do. 29er Hardtail vs 26er hardtail last year...... should make a difference?!?!

  9. still 7 Ulrich doped - proven. Other podium contenders probably doped too. How far back in the field would you have to go before you found someone that didnt dope??? So lance was the fastest doper. LOL
  10. GOOD GRIEF, this thread is still going!
  11. He won 7, drug induced or not. Most his top competitors at the time were probably doping too. Its all such a farce anyway.
  12. yes. they sh1te. Very complicated and finicky to set up. Rather save up for a powertap or something similar. To make myself clear though - I used one of the older models,I Bike pro.
  13. I bought one and I must say was NOT as user friendly as my garmin and user manual isnt great at all. Don't worry Rvan, sometimes grumpy hubbers that get abused by their wives or just don't get any use this forum as a place to give out some of the abuse they get....
  14. Agreed. In fact I have tried cutting out refined sugar as far as possible. Not easy because so much of our daily food intake includes refined sugar. What I can say is that since I have done this my energy levels on the bike have improved and I dont have as dramatic troughs and peaks on rides. Energy levels are much more consistent.
  15. You get quite a few brands that do glutamine powder. Any dis chem stocks it. I use USN or Solal or Biogen. It's a fairly uncomplicated compound, so almost any brand will do I suppose.
  16. I use USN recover max when I do rides of 4 hrs +. Its all about carb to protein ratio. Might not be the best product out there but it definitely works for me and its YUMMY! My secret recovery smoothie...... 2 scoops chocolate recover max, 1 table spoon plain yogurt, 1 table spoon crunch peanut butter, 1 x banana, 1 scoop glutamine, and a tray of ice. = Y-U-M!!!
  17. Disappointed that they too suikerbosrand out......
  18. I gave the spike stuff to one of my colleagues that drinks red bull from time to time..... he was bouncing up and down in his seat like a jack russel on speed for an hour; then he crashed at about 3pm (2 hrs later).
  19. I remember the days when goodie bags had goodies in em (lamenting...); water bottles, socks etc etc etc Now my nissan socks have holes in them and my waterbottle is way past its useful life..
  20. Mine just arrived too!!!
  21. Thor hushovd vs Gesink??? Flat roads, Thor will hurt gesink, steep climbs gesink will ride away from Thor..... horses for courses
  22. I'd like to do a cradle ride 1x per week. Leave from woodmead tho, so takes me 30-45 minutes to get to broadacres. I will pass broad acres at 5:30am ish... Average about 29-30kms on my own.
  23. Uhemmmm..... I like the sound of that.... might just save myself the indignity and call it a training ride from now already and drop down from VA to D!!!
  24. Welcome to the hurt box..... sunday's gonna be a world of pain after saturday!!
