  1. I've been rising tubeless tyres since 2005, and I've only used a reamer fixing tyres on my trailers. Never on a bike. I don't even have one in my workshop toolbox, let alone on the bike. On the one hand, you are always willing, and equipped, to help, on the other hand, it seems that you are a magnet for bad luck.
  2. You are applying XC and Marathon thinking to a trail bike. Basically the reverse of your thinking.

Or it was hors d'oeuvres for the big show. My neighbor is called Karen. She smashes the stereotype. Trail runners know that kit is the difference between calling WSAR and a bad night on the mountain. Like Shebeen said, MTBers have stopped being self sufficient. And it's time we learn that again. That reminds me, I need to get a few space blankets and DWR spray for my rain jackets.
  4. I have a couple of friends with kashima and xx1 on their really nice bikes. SkouPonie fietse. 👌 Today I was on my singlespeed. Worth less than the cassette on the one bike. Fortunately we all have a great time when riding together no matter what bikes we ride. Get this man a bells. Yes! One day when I grow up I want my SS to be made of steel. Measured in watts or perceived watts?
  5. Een man se lelik is 'n ander man se vrou. Maar ek laai die één.
  6. A friend of mine grew up in a PnP franchise store that his family owned. He ended up working there as well. That store is immaculate, and they know every staff member by name. He hates going to corporate PnP stores where the staff are provided by labour brokers. WRT Checkers. Freshmark, their fresh supplier , has been pushing hard to provide better products in store, and it can be seen in store. Being in the Agri industry, I'm curious. Do you have any data or findings regarding this that I can read? I drank Ceres tap water yesterday, must have been treated.
  7. Cringe worthy stuff. Saving the fish comes at a price. But it works. Ive only coughed up for it once. We now have a bread crate in my wife's car. If we forget bags, the shopped items go back into the trolley, and is packed into the crate back at the car.
  8. And the stores respect the cold chain. Iveseen a manager at WW send a half packed Pallet back into the cold chain because it was taking too long to get into the fridge. Transport, packaging, marketing and middleman margins all add up. We're paying for convenience of not having to drive out to a farm to get milk. Not in staple items like milk and brown bread, but stay away from pre-made food and the Chuckles aisle if you don't want a flat wallet.
  9. On trails that you usually can run anytime. Some events have enough Gees and the perceived availability of help close by in case you put your pawpaw in the fan. OakValley and PC will probably ask their pound of flesh to use their trails. Probably at about R100 per rider.
  10. Indeed it can. I checked, because I've had this question before. I agree, single use tools are stupid. Especially if it was engineered like that. Why don't you just use the gauge in your shock pump? If it's out, you need to pump it anyway.
  11. Maybe because we are losing the ability to read analog devices? Or because the OP has far looking eyes and arms that have become too short. Or maybe the perceived accuracy of a digital gauge that is what's is desired?
  12. I use the PRO pressure gauge. Didn't cost an arm and a leg, has an easy to reach purge button, and it can switch between bar and psi to appease both the metric and neanderthal unit users. Apparently it fits Schrader valves as well, but I won't know.
  13. after seeing what the Chinese trucks look like after a few years compared to the Japanese trucks, I'm still very skeptical about the P-Series. Especially if the resale value takes the same dip as the FAW trucks.
  14. Right, my axles seem straight, but I'm not sure they'll fit. I can however lend you a pair of flat pedals to ride with until you can meet up with Niell71. Anything to get you back on that sweet rig.
  15. Jis meneer! Ek het dalk iets vir jou. Dis 'n XT stel, waarvan een as gebuig is. Hopelik pas dit, en hopelik is dit die regte kant. Sal vanaand in die laai gaan krap.
  16. Naah, my AppleTV iFfingy came with a remote. But I didn't buy it from Shaun.
  17. And just in case things have changed since I've worked in shops, I checked how forks are being sold nowadays. I think it will be best for what's left of your reputation if you make right and ship a remote to your customer.
  18. No Shaun, you are wrong. When you buy a new fork, that has remote lockout, it comes with the remote and the cable in the box. You don't buy the remote as a seperate item. Just because it is seperate in your mind, does not make it the truth, or that you are correct.
  19. You are on the right path. Just ensure the size is right. That the shocks are air (easily adjustable if they weigh very little) and have good brakes. Oooh, a dropper will do wonders for her confidence. It changed riding for my wife. My wife now rides a lovely XT equipped Anthem with a 120mm Reba and a dropper post. Oh and please send her for technical skills training. W2W isn't very technical, but being confident on Oak Valley's bridges and the switchbacks everywhere will make or break it for her.
  20. Gentleman please. Logic not allowed.
  21. Look for a space like this against the back of the backpack. The reservoir sleeve. If it's a hiking pack then it should be there.
  22. What backpack are you using right now? Most day packs have a space for a bladder and hose opening.
  23. Fair enough. I admit that when I see an aerosol I immediately see my father spraying the crap put of basically everything on his boat with q20 or wd40. If you sit still long enough he'll spray you as well to keep the rust at bay.
  24. I love it when you talk foreign. Thanks, your knack of explaining something to a layman is so much better than mine. I do oil wear checks at services, and randomly pull fuel samples and have them checked as well. The oil checks is for red flags as early warning about engine trouble. The fuel tests is more to keep my diesel supplier aware that we'll pick up if they dilute their diesel, and to keep Ford SA honest when they want to cry foul. If we pick up something in the fuel tests it will probably be to late to save the fancier engines, but then at least we won't be lookimg for a smoking gun.
