  1. Preliminary result will be out today on www.racetime.co.za, might change slightly with some reults to be added. Some 5 prizes of unclaimed price money left, so I will get in contact with those people in the course of the day.
  2. Thug, was it you coming in top 4 on a fully rigid SS? Well done. Thanks for all who came to support us. Looking at the rain now, I can't believe we had the perfect weather yesterday. Thanks for the kind words above hubbers! Makes it worth it. Pitty that I missed you at the finish NotSoBigBen, glad your son liked it.
  3. Last morning for pre-entries
  4. Weather wise, it looks like it may be a stunning day. Bit of rain predicted for Thursday and Friday evenings which will be perfect to settle the dust. I'm off to mark the last sections.
  5. Wish I could double like this! Pretty sunburned as I sit here, but loving working on the route. Buying you a beer for a debriefing and your suggestions if you stick around till I sweeped the marshals.
  6. We will accept pre-entries up to Thursday morning. Line entries are available from 6am on Saturday. As for the SS ratio: Most climbs on the 62km are gradial, but there are a couple steep shortish ones that will test a granny gear. Some fast sections too, so hard to say.
  7. Getting very exited about Saturday. 22 marshals! It's gonna be a busy but awesome day.
  8. Pretty high up on my to-do list.
  9. Jip. Line entries can be done. Hope he likes (no loves) the sport.
  10. 62km Route and profile. Around 950m ascent. Waterpoints at 6,17,35 and 45km.
  11. 23km route and profile. Non-technical, but 327m ascent. Climbs are gradual though.
  12. Point taken. Reconsidering it. People would not know where to go to make use of this option if not directed by the marshal anyway and number removed, but I think you are 100% correct. Rather get sweeped if the legs fall off.
  13. Total price money of R6000 cash by JCP Steel Supplies confirmed today. Muffins and coffee for sale before the race. Sosaties and jaffels thereafter. And obviously beer and cold drinks!
  14. Introducing "Bail Out". We decided to add a shortcut distance of 50km for those somewhere between the 23km and 60km ability or those who battle on the day. Simply tell the people at waterpoint 3 you are heading home, get a sticker on your board and skip a 10km loop. Obviously no prizes for this category and entry as per the 60km event.
  15. Wednesday next week preferably but I am sure we can handle entries up to next Thursday (17th), but the sooner we get them the better we can plan.
  16. Awesome day out as we did a dry run of around 92% of the 60km route on Saturday. Saw lots of game up close and a spectacular view of the Jhb skyline from the highpoint of 1800m. Although the 23km route has some gradual climbs and twisty singletrack, it certainly is not technical. As for the 60km route, this is a proper mtb route with very close to 1000m total ascent. Although we removed some of the most technical sections of last year's route, the new sections is worth it. Some bumpy sections also removed thanks to new land access available to us this year.
  17. Reminder. All planning still on track! Less than 3 weeks to go.
  18. Gorgeous, but why?

Thanks Warren911! Yes, awesomy day out! Photos will be available by tomorrow on www.burningbushmedia.net. They will send out emails to participants when it is up. They are just adding a surname search incase some forget their race number. A retirement home is being build on a part of the current race route, so lets hold thumbs its not the last we saw of this race. Oh, and to the 2 solo warriors that kicked some serious team butt and ended in the top 10 overall, hats off to you (that's you NotSoBigBen)
  20. Dried sealant weighs less than the chamois cream in your crack, so why do you want to remove it?

Team Rusted Chains entered! (and boy are some of us rusted!) Think entries closes today.
  22. That one Hubber should enter his wife
  23. Off-topic: I might be Ignorant, stupid, too much on bike and too little on the hub or a combination, but please: What the hell is this Strava(holes)? {I get the ass part of the hole part}.
  24. Ai, so much anger on the hub this week. Keep it bottled in and then come klap our 65km route on the 19th of October. Just don't klap it from behind, the arrows will be in the opposite direction. Only thing you will encounter at our spruit crossings may be cow, jackal and eland, no bull! But seriously, route will be awesome.

Are you the guy who hooked the tree on lap one 2 years ago? Broken shoulder blade.
