  1. I will just wait for Sausie to do a comparative timed run test and win the Epic on one. Then I will believe it no questions asked
  2. I see the last ±20km of the half marathon and marathon share the same route again. Lets hold thumbs there are none of the usual issues in this regard.
  3. Overhead powerlines and electrical sub-stations can also cause overreading of hr. Move to another location and try again. But please, put your shirt back on first!
  4. Thanks Tim. Entered Saturday.
  5. So jealous. Used to work close by, but now 80km away. Used to pop in at least twice a week. I miss them!
  6. +1. This is how I roll. I agree that the Schwalbe "race" tires that come with many bikes are prone to cuts and hard to make tubeless, but I run the tubeless ready EVO (not snakeskinn), and love them. No problems in 5 months now.
  7. +1. Cannot get to any of the stores in weekdays. So if no registration at the start, then I cannot enter.
  8. No. First 6 guys still finished in top 6 as app 1st 40 riders took wrong turn, not just the 1st 6. I was fortunate to be one of first 3 or so riders to be marshalled to the correct road. Must say, if I saw that marker showing straight over the main road into the bushes (no road cut there), without a marshall I would still follow the 40km route like they did. Edit: yes, impressive average, about the same as the Ultra guys.
  9. Good choise! Show pick of bike with upgrade as reward to voters!
  10. About the same speed for me on the road or mtb on tar. About 30-32km/h. Must say this has to stop. Gotta learn to do base training, not bliksem every ride. No seeding for the road (will start road races perhaps next year), but generally A bunch for mtb bunch starts.
  11. Hi Tim. Do you have an answer for me yet? Thanks
  12. Yes, you can move back in bunches, but be prepared to have your timing displayed as from when you were supposed to start, not from your actual start.
  13. Hi Tim, I did a bulk entry and only the last person entered on it received the seeding email. Where can I look for my seeding?
  14. Me and granny gear there like a bear. Truly a race of extremes. From loose rocky to sandy to fast and flat. Terrain changes all the time so no respite and you need to work hard on the downhills too. The climbs a brutal though. Be prepared. Love this race.
  15. I use my God given brain too. Does not make me an atheist. In fact, the more I use it, the more I love God. Iconic, isn't it.
  16. From website previously posted. Lambo bike.bmp
  17. http://www.rbike.com.cn/prod.asp?action=1&Pnm=青梅竹木&Pid=108 Saw this in China. Real Bamboo, awesome engraving, beautiful leather. All this class for around R13k. Also check out the Ferrari bikes. Some foldable ones below R3k! Took close-up picks too of many bikes there. Will post soon. Perhaps Bob can paste some from the website (I am technologically previously and still disadvantaged)
  18. Did it for almost 2 years, but stopped this year. Cannot believe how stiff I became in such a short time. Funny pains returning. Will start again as soon as I can. Definitely worth the efford. Must just find the dicipline to do it on my own as classes can get pricey.
  19. Damn Small H, beat me some seconds there!
  20. TNT, watch to the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SvZdUAsTaWM
  21. Ha-ha. Was looking at the pick when a colleague walked by and said the same thing!
  22. You are spot on my lenght. I ride a Large Santa Cruz. Spot-on in the centre of the Large range. On most other makes I, like you, am between the Medium and Large. You will love this ride. Enjoy!
  23. Thank you trickledown technology! Sure this SLX is much better than XTR of say 5-7 years ago.
  24. I have the missing link between 36One and 360Life! Both sponsored by All gold tomato sauce.
  25. I cannot comment on the Crossmax. As for the American Classics: The rims are a bit soft imo (can be expected for the weight). Dont buy if you love Geax TNT tyres, they are a b!tch to fit and you may even bend the rims to do so. The tape they use to cover the nipple holes do not work to well with sealant either (not a real tubeless wheel). Will disintegrate in about 1 year. Apart from that I really enjoyed them so far and no issues with the hubs. Rolls really smoothly.
