  1. It's Heidelberg, we can do 2000m! ...but we wont. Join us on a social ride one Saterday on your AM rig and your mouth will drop at the natural riding that is available on our doorstep. Just not suitable for a race.
  2. I will be exploring some farm road and cattle track options with one on the farmers tomorrow morning for the new return sections on the other side of the mountain (yes, we are going over it, not around it). Very thankful for the farmers who are so generous as to giving us access on their land for the day. So far for the long route it looks like either 61 or 67km with either 950 or 1000m ascent. Any preferences?
  3. Here we go again! Get ready for some small town hospitality, a sweet proper mtb route, cold beers, lekke food and hopefully a beatiful Spring day under the Africal sun. Hope to see some of you Hubbers there.
  4. Man o man, isn't that the truth! Coming down into a wooded section, I got the scare of my life as this cow comes for me with real intent and I had to run behind the trees and use my Precious as a shield. Wife was following some distance behind and instead of bailing at my screams of caution and fear...she comes closer to wath the show and laughing like never before. I still get mocked till this day! Bloody big cows those!
  5. Dont ask me race directions...I am the race director official race official or just plain: Race co
  6. Baie geluk! Nice wiele ook daai.
  7. So CJL, what is it going to be? Either one, can't wait to see it, and perhaps take it for a spin.
  8. Also makes a diffs if you have a 26" or 29". For a 29" I would suggest a 11-36 at the back if you go 24 front. There are some steep climbs in the Magaliesberg. No shame in a 36 at the back.
  9. Can? Yes. Should? No. Seen it too many times that you turn a cold into the flu and you just wont have the legs you would expect. Frustrating.
  10. What was he doing on your Uni cycle?
  11. My observation exactly. Make no mistake, I would get out of there like a flash when the water started retreating. Curiosity is not going to kill this cat. How powerful is nature!

    LMCS 6 Hour

Always a great day out and riding in a team makes you push way harder than for yourself. No way I will miss it! Thanks for reminding us Scotty.
  13. Eish, good luck with that. Had EBV at the same time as Hepatitis A start of 2009. You take a hammering and may never be 100% the same, but you will come through it.
  14. https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/mtb/sa-mtb-racing/huge-blow-for-masters-world-champs-contenders-r831?st=16#commentsStart You broke them already?
  15. Bloody hell, 2000m climbibg over 35km on a XC course?! I would battle to do that on a rockless tarred course! Well done on your hard work guys and good luck to the local masters.
  16. HKGK. Timing is everything.
  17. Brighter light = darker shadow
  18. Cathedral Peak Hotel had some awesome singletrack routes built. Haven't been there in a while, but give them a call. Also Bell's Mikes pass is a good tough climb from Dedima. Soooo jealous!
  19. I have been pondering the following for a while. Can anyone here be 100% confident that you would pass a "drug" test? Taking the following into consideration: 1. The supplement industry in SA is not governed at all (perhaps someone employed in this industry can comment). 2. We are not pharmacists. I do not know 99% of the items in the banned list or in which off-the-counter products you can find it, let alone prescription medicine (and I don't think all our doctors are experts on banned sports items either). 3. Even if you are advised by your doctor that there is some banned substence in a prescribed medicine you need, how long before you take a chance to race (or for me and the "OP", take part)? Edit: spelling (and there may be more)
  20. Ag, watter klomp snert! They actually call that a technical report?
  21. Excuse me, but wasn'd Bradley wiggins a track cyclist of note before he "changed" into a GC contender? Took him 2 years, but he did it. Edit: Oops, sorry, i see this was discussed.
  22. Yes it is, but this the hub. If I am right, I think it is a brilliant move from Sky. All I am saying is you wont see Froome bonk again on this tour.
  23. Guys, I don't buy the "Froome bonk" story for a second. It will be a sad day for cycling if I am correct. If you have to do this to gain credibility and popularity. Yesterday many people was shouting "dope" and I am pretty sure they are less verbal about it now. It may also be to mind f#%k the rivals. Watch him today, we will see.
  24. Take your hat of for the man. Last year and this year, if there is a break, he is in it. sulrely he will take red jersey this year in Paris (didn't he take it last year as well?)
  25. Thanks Shaper and TubeHunter! Just heard they have gone up Dues twice before, in 1979, once in the morning and again in the afternoon.
