Just returned from a 3rd round of cleaning the route and markings. Only 2 gel sachets and a pump found on the course. Thank you all! With an unlittered course we have a good change of having the land access again for next year.

No, someone else. I just spoke to Cedric though and he too did do the 60 on his fully rigid SS. Respect people!

You did the 60 on a SS? Bloody hell, hope you at least had suspension. Looks like we will be able to do a circular route next year and perhaps make it a bit easier, but we will keep some of those steep climbs for your SS challenge.

Thanks to everyone for your support. Big thanks to the landowners and Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages. Also a special thanks to the Springs riders who always support the local races in numbers and in good spirit. Thanks also to @Gerhardc for all your help and support. Some of the routes are available for weekend riding, but please call me so we can show you which parts are out of bounds. The guys who did the 30km are in for a surprise at what technical riding there were for the 60km guys. And there are much more routes up there that are great for the warrior, but not appropriate for a race. We would love to have you come play with us Hdb guys.

@NotSoSlowBen, always nice to have you racing in Heidelberg. Congrats on your result! Upon reflection, the 60km was a tough one. There are hills in Gauteng and we found them. So much learnt today as race oraganiizers. Hope to make better every year.

Sorry, no online entries. Pre-entries till Thursday. If you wish, you can always just fax/mail the entry form/s and then pay at the venue. I know EFT can be a schlep sometimes.

60km route and profile. Heavy recent rains did not effect the route much. Still looking great.

30km route and profile. Must say the Google profile isn't extremely accurate as there are some spikes on the profile which does not really exist. Good news? More like 350-400m ascent.

Will post them in the morning, when I figure out how to from Google Earth. Tips?

Please bring your kids along for the free Kiddies Race at 9am. There will be 2 distances to accommodate the very small guys. Routes on the golf course and balloons are the route markers. Cant wait to have you guys, the routes is taking shape beautifully!

So true! Will link all the sections on Google Earth and post it here later this week. Over 1000m ascent for 59km and around 420m for the 29km. There is a spot at 1800m abs where you look down over JHB, the whole East Rand, Balfour and Grootvlei, not to mention how picturesque our little town seems from there. We will have to put a "look-up" signboard there cause the the guys may be too busy dodging Eland and rock at that point.

Come November, I will be clean by X days.
