  1. My family vegetables will aslo go numb if i stand on them. Btw, how do you manage to stand on your peddles, must me in a big vegetable sack
  2. Problem with normal patches are that they tend to "pop" where the hole is if the hole is too big. The dental floss idea in combination standard patches should work nicely, just effort. The plugs are also called "plug patches" or "patch/plug combination". A box of 14 imported is around $21. http://fixtires.com/...combination.php
  3. Various sizes available too. Thanks Hairy
  4. I have sidewall cuts in brand new Racing Ralph TLR and Maxxis Crossmark UST tires. Breaks my heart to throw them away as I won't ride them with tubes. Discovered this product at a motorbike store this weekend. Works like a charm and R1100 worth of tire saved with 2 off R30 plugs. 1. Remove blue cover tape. 2. Apply vulcanizing glue to the newly exposed rubber on the plug as well as on the inside of tire around the cut. 3. Use the copper inner rod of the plug to pull the cyclindrical portion of the plug through the cut/hole from the inside out until the patch portion adheres to the tire. 4. Cut the plug with a stanley knife flush with the tire on the outside. Barely visible. I think it should work on sidewall cuts of up to around 12-15mm. My cuts were 10mm. "snotstokkies" did not produce a permanent fix as they move and the sealant does not get in contact with them as it is on the side of the tire. Hope it makes sense and hope you salvage a tire or two.
  5. The dual air is worth the bucks. Whatever you do, don't get a Fox. Long story (and they don't have dual air).
  6. Listen your body. If it wants to stay in bed (and not because you are simply lazy), then the best thing to do in preparation is......stay in bed. Serious.
  7. Foam roller? Ouch dude, one of the most painful things you can do to yourself is to roll out an ITB. Make sure you lick up your tears. Electrolite loss leads to cramping.
  8. Made in SA by Vector?
  9. AIM also supplies it in the dried form. Expensive though. I saw some other cheaper supplier in Clicks once. Barleygrass. Claimed one, if not the first, grain grown by man and consumed as staple food. Possible reason why Adam and his his offspring got to 900 years age?
  10. I saw a lot of Tallboys in Hermanus this holiday with the shock turned around. Actually just turned mine as well. No problems. Only problem I can think off is that the oil will now not properly lubricate the sleeve/seal as it will drain down to the other (control) end. Will have to rest the bike upside down every now and then.
  11. Never thought I'll see the day. Welcome to the fast side Iron.
  12. I will be in Hermanus from 15 Dec till 4 January. Any hubbers holidaying or living in the area looking for a training partner? Last day at the office today.
  13. Man, are you for real? Expect a vrot Naartjie on your windscreen if you pass me driving in the yellow lane while I patiently wait in the q.
  14. I am all getting worked up for your sake. So don't let this incident and thoughts/fantacies of revenge bugger up your day and week. Count to 1500, take a deep breath and forget about it. There will always be the appendixes of society; there with no function but to make us miserable.
  15. +1. Can't think of anything nicer to say to your fellow man.
  16. I also had bar ends on my riser bar on the 29er. Love them, but removed them for the same reason as my 29er bar is much wider than what was on my 26er. Getting used to not having them now, but it took some time. I also do not care what any "style" man thinks. These are probably the same people that wore hipster type bellbottoms with shirts with frills in the seventies and believe that pink is the new black. MTB is not a style thing, it is a function thing. Who cares, seriously?!
  17. This weekend I rode my beloved previous 26" (which I sold about 6 months ago) for couple of km. Again, like the previous time I took it for a spin, I could not wait to swop back to my new ride. I will never try to convince someone that a 29er will be better for them, but for me it is and I will never go back (except perhaps for a 6"+ travel AM 2nd bike)
  18. SS only please. @Iron, actually I am a fan, that is why I often view this tread. Love what guys do to theser bikes that would otherwise never be ridden.
  19. Simple, take an elastic band and pull it over rear brake lever and handle and play with the tension in the elastic band untill you have enough resistance. Wear on pads is the downside, but as the IDT allready gives some resistance, it shouldn't be to bad.
  20. Here's mine. Ultimate simplicity...where all SS will be in 3 years.
  21. I'm no roady but I bet you will beat 4hr. Riding in a bunch and race time adrenaline makes a massive difference. Just don't kill yourself over the 1st 50km and you will surprise yourself. Enjoy! PS: Never listen to TNT.
  22. I finally found the fault. It wasn't my chain afterall. Seems like the freebody pins did not fully engage and thus, under high torque disengaged. A good clean and re-grease (of the freebody) sorted me out. Thanks all for your advise.
  23. Another tip, borrow some used cleats from a friend. New cleats fits tightly in the pedal.
  24. Nice VdButcha!...But Van Gaalens...does it have aircon?
