  1. It can be a bit viby I won't lie... I come home with pins and needles in my knees after a ride from when I grip the tank.
  2. One thing that you are never short of in Moz is cold beer. You can bee in the middle of butt **** nowhere, no civilization in sight and no electricity and there will be ice cold beer for sale on the side of the road. No idea how they do it
  3. 1190 Adventure R isn't being produced anymore if what I've heard is true. End of last year saw a lot of deals on 2016 bikes. April is supposed to see the arrival of the long awaited 1090 Adventure R (According to dealers anyway...) All boils down to what you are looking for. I've been looking for a while and my requirements were a dual sport bike that can handle the tech stuff that is WAY off the beaten track but still capable of doing multi-day trips. I don't want to be worried about how far apart filling stations are either so a descent amount of fuel on board was important. Cost was also a driving factor. I am unfortunately not in the position to drop R100k+ on a bike so I obviously had to look second hand. I ended up getting an older KTM 640 Adventure R (2003). More than up to the task when it comes to the technical stuff. Came with soft luggage and racks for this multi-day trips. 28lt fuel on board so that gets me about 400km. I am not interested in cruising at anything more that 130-140 kph on the highway so no issues there either. Spares wise, cost might be slightly more than their Japanese counterparts. If they don't have, it can be here in 1,5 weeks. (For interest sake agents filters are cheaper than aftermarket and the agent had stock where the aftermarket had to order in...) I have also not had a bad experience with my dealer of choice. Always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I don't commute on mine. It's for weekend fun. I realise that I am going to have to tinker on it but that's not an issue for me. It came with a few battle scars but I have a plan to make it look good again. That process started last weekend...
  4. RIP and condolences to his family and friends.
  5. Everybody adopting Tumbles' avatar is really freaking me out..... Every time I open a thread and see that pic, I get a little excited and then the reality sets in

  7. If you are into bikes, watch "The Greasy Hands Preachers" on RedBullTV.
  8. My sincerest condolences to Family and friends alike. I will remember the beers and cigars at the Keg as well as the hangovers (from his pre wagon days) and the sore stomach from the laughs when we did get together while I was in his 'hood. On one occasion (right around the time that the wide bars and short stems combo reared their head) I was saying that I was battling to find a short stem for my trail bike. Barry said no problem! Come see me after the pub and he'll make a plan. I arrived at his house to see to him, Connor, Breandon and Tumbles in the road riding the Unicycle. Barry handed me a 60mm Truvativ stem and said cheers, go enjoy (That stem came off of a GT that he had). You will be sorely missed mate. Thanks for the good times. Goodbye my friend.
  9. Basically Warner "borrowed" a golf cart after Greg won. The Syndicate was involved, there was beer, a bit of balast on the back in the shape of Ratboy and some mates and the result is what you see. Barry almost got smoked in the process. There was lots of laughter and then they drank more beer.
  10. Then there was the golf cart incident at the World Cup in PMB with Rob Warner....
  11. Is there any chance that someone could be reading all these messages to Barry? I realise he's sedated and all but subconsciously you never know...
  12. Just read the latest update. Damn.... Said a prayer for you and your family Barry. Be strong my ftiend. Still more beers to be drunk and cigars to smoke while we shoot the breeze at the Keg. One of the things I looked forward to when we did the family visit in Benoni. Thinking of you mate.
  13. Watched the first John Wick last night in preparation for #2.
  14. Thanks for the feedback Kevin. As you can see, there are a shyte load of people pulling for him. Strongs to you and the family during this difficult time and remember that Barry is in our prayers.
  15. Before I started this streaming journey, I was on a 1Mb Telkom line..... so you already a few steps ahead Your hardware/software/service will evolve to a point where you are happy. (But you'll never be happy... *insert evil laugh*)
  16. I have a "20Mb" line (Telkom say only a 10Mb line is available but Afrihost tested mine at 12Mb so I pay the extra R25 a month and grab what I can over and above the 10Mb...) and I wish for more.... We try stream at 480p while the two older kids surf and game in the study and the little guy is on Youtube. We have a few buffering issues depending on the stream but mostly it works out. Sometimes I have to "pull rank" and shut down devices but I think that has a lot to do with the quality of the stream TBH. You can always do with a bit more If it's just you, 4Mb should be OK Edit: this is copper.... No Fibre available yet
  17. Been a hectic few days recently so I only just saw this now...! Speedy recovery Barry. Thinking of you mate.
  18. Started this last night: http://toxicwap.com/cms/sub_thumb/The%20Last%20Man%20On%20Earth.jpg This is some funny ****!! Everybody should have a Margarita pool
  19. Best thing. Ours is R725 if I recall also with a rollover. Problem is that I am so used to "managing the data" that we are still using it like that. I think my package might be a bit excessive but I no longer have any data issues... Will see how it goes and adjust accordingly if required. Great thin is that you can change your package as your requirements change
  20. Telkom promise a lot of things but seldom deliver... I stuck with them for a long time. Recently switched to Afrihost. Double the line speed (20Mbs and 4 times the data (400Gb) for R100 a month less So this is my latest purchase:
  21. I am running an MXQPro Android box with Kodi, RedBull TV and UKTVNOW loaded and I am very happy. I paired that with a Rii i8+ Backlit wireless keyboard and I couldn't be happier.
  22. 50% off sale at the Fox Store in Springfield Park at the moment, on EVERYTHING in store. Picked up a Flux helmet and a pair of Rangers for just over R1k http://www.pushys.com.au/media/catalog/product/cache/3/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/f/o/fox-flux-womens-mtb-helmet-blue-2016-FO13526002-PAR-front-visor.jpg http://www.bobs-bicycles.com/images/W/Fox-Head-Ranger-Cargo-Shorts-Gray-08703-028.jpg
  23. Could be an interesting hybrid project... nothing a welding machine, grinder, pencil, paper, and a bit of ingenuity couldn't fix. Depends on how much you can get them for though......
  24. Watched S01E01 of Sacred Steel Bikes last night. I think I am going to enjoy the show. I really like that style of build. Not a fan of the theme bikes like OCC etc.... Trying to find a source for Philly Throttle as well. Not having too much luck though..... Shows up on Exodus/Phoenix/Good Fellas but then tells me that there are no streams available.....
  25. Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S03...... S h i t just got a bit freaky.....
