  1. My apologies. I've been trying to pretend I'm 100% so I could ride but I'm really not. Please have a safe ride for me.
  2. https://bikehub.co.za/events/races/view/138/two-oceans-foxpack-shuffle-not-a-race
  3. Leave from Fories at 04h00 on the 17th.
  4. Long story but it turned out to be my Mom who took the cat to St. Francis and she had done CTCT. So there was a crazy link there. 😵
  5. Can't take the credit, was from the link posted above the paragraph. 😩
  6. Event Name: Two Oceans Foxpack Shuffle - Not a RaceWhen: 17/04/2022Where: Foresters Arms, Newlands, Cape Town, Western CapeCategory: RoadNot sure how much traction this will gain with this format but I thought I have it a bash. This is NOT A RACE. Riders are requested to follow the rules of the road. Rides are responsible for their own safety as well as that of others. snip snip... http://wolfpackhustle.com/about/ This is love for everyone on the road. This is hold your line. We negotiate with ourselves and we negotiate with traffic. We go behind the cars. We fly under the radar. We make it obvious. We call out everything. Holes peds cars left cars right cars up cars back wide right big left big light rolling slowing stopping timing. We look ahead and judge the light. We read what's unfolding. We pass on the right. We move to the left. Stale green? Fresh red? Slow it up a little and time the light. We catch the green so we aren't making any silly decisions... We watch for late. We conserve momentum. We draft buses. We escort the elderly across the street. We race jets. We find special places in far away corners of Cape Town just because it feels good the next morning to brag. We do what it takes. BRING: Helmet. GOOD Lights front and rear. Your SHUFFLE. Lets celebrate the morning. In support of all the runners. In recognition of the sacrifice of the support staff. And the privilege of riding Chappies under a full moon without cars. Comment below if you're keen. Go to Event Page.
  7. Any plans for this year?
  8. Land Rover Discovery.
  9. The assumption is this is the cavity the cat climbed into.
  10. Cat has been found. This was a crazy story. Cape Town to St. Francis 680 km underneath a vehicle. And if it wasn't for the Bluetooth tag on the cat, I don't think anyone would have know what had happened.
  11. This is a long shot and might not be a CTCT rider but might help reunite the owner and cat. https://www.facebook.com/celeste.perry.357/posts/10158269700875940
  12. Does anyone know the fate of the guy who was getting CRP on the M3 before UCT at about 8:15ish. Hope he was ok?
  13. I tried too, after seeing this thread last week. Didn't float my boat either and it was with a normal banana. OP claiming it's better than ice cream is maybe smoking something. 🤣🥷 (side note... what happened to original hub ninja emoji? #bringbacktheninja)
  14. Roughly here... https://goo.gl/maps/reD719XDLXXMrQYW8
  15. This should probably be here too…
  16. Interested to hear about people's experiences with the three transactions per year rule. It's really easy to surpass that quite quickly. If things are bought from Amazon, Bike retailer, etc. Unless I'm miss understanding it? Any one had any problems?
  17. Shout out to Andre from Rush for the Silca cages and Summit Bikes for the Ti bolts. Repurposed rotor bolts. This is were the build theme starts.
  18. The Cane Creek Viscoset is a bit of a quantity unknow. Not much info out there but I liked the concept. Will have to report back once fully build and tested. Another cool feature is that the headset can be rebuilt to specific damper tunes.
  19. The BB was probably the of the more emotional purchases considering the cost but I really like the concept of a single piece BB (having watched too many of Hambini's videos). I did look at the Hambini options but his T47 24mm option is really two interlocking parts rather than a single piece. https://www.hambini.com/product/t47-68mm-threadfit-shimano-racing-bottom-bracket/
  20. Two of the more interesting parts purchased new... BBInfinite T47 Shimano Road bottom bracket https://www.bbinfinite.com/products/t47-external-shimano-road-bottom-brackets?_pos=2&_sid=a37254a21&_ss=r&variant=37743499083932 Cane Creek Viscoset https://canecreek.com/product/viscoset/
  21. With all the discussions about the Hubs changes I though I'd take the chance to celebrate the bikes/components that I have been able to ride because of the classifieds. And the interesting Hubbers that I have crossed paths with over the 10+ years I have been on here. This build has been a long term project. The original frame was bought in Jan 2019 and have been slowly buying the parts needed. So, shout out to all the Hubbers that have made this possible.
  22. Granted, a 18650 would probably be a better option but the tech is proven in other application. The LR1110 chip used in this tracker is really interesting. It can reference WiFi and GNSS. It then offloads that meta data to servers to do the positioning as not to use battery doing the location compute on the actual device.
  23. Probably more useful than a Tile Tracker due to the increased number of iPhone but potential to discover it with anti tracking notification Apple has enabled on it. Think this is going to be the gold standard at some point when LoRa network coverage matures... https://www.digitalmatter.com/devices/yabby-edge-cellular/ 10 year battery life and much larger broadcast range.
