  1. that Santa cruz is probibly the coolest bike to ever been made!! i looked at getting one myself but the biggest problem i had with those big bikes is pedalling. i know they dont "bob" as bad as DH bikes but one still needs to get from point A to B. SA unfortunatly doesnt have the places to ride a bike like that. i am not trying to sound lazy but that bike is heavy. i got a Spech Enduro and it is quite heavy itself, 14/15 kgs. but it has very little "bob" so it can be used for long outrides. Bottom line your bike is awesome!! i like, very much.
  2. i had Specialized resolution tyres on mine. Not great at all, the side wall is way to thin. the grip is even worse on hardpack. took the plunge and bought Schwalbe Alberts. front and back. best choice i have made. good cornering, snakeskin sidewall and pretty fast for a agressive tire my wife rides a Albert on the front and a Smart Sam on the back, she loves the grip and the speed.
  3. how much???? always a good tool to have!!
  4. you got the evil eye pro or the one with the solid one piece lens?
  5. that is the one!!!
  6. my friend rides a AM3000 large fram and has one of those "side entry" cages, he can fit the 750ml bottle in it easy. the normal "entry" bottle doesnt really work.
  7. my wifes ellsworth cant take a bottle either. the space is only big enough for a gel!! she has a XS with the female spec.

  12. hi all i am looking into buying myself a polar watch or monitor for my bike. it is basically a choice between the watch type(CS300) and the cycle specific(CS400) one. i see they both have way more than enough settings and things too check your training, heart rate, planning, altitude etc. is it really needed too have all these settings? i obviously want too get the most out off the product, so will i use all this? cause i dont really see the point in paying alot for something that i am not really going too use. and who has these products and use all the settings? or should i go with more simple?
  13. those tubeless fix kits work wonders, saved my friends arse twice in one day. i also find that tyres with wire beads work well, if you need too bomb it.
  14. hey Saffa G i have a friend that stays out in that area, i am seeing him tonight, i will ask him too be on the lookout.... maybe he can get a address off the guy, hehehehe
  15. hello people, my wife has bontrager stylo cranks at the moment on her race bike (mtb) and i have a set off shimano xt cranks at home. so i was thinking we want too get her bike a bit lighter, now i know changing the wheelset and tyres are the easiest place too save some weight but i am not too sure about the cranks. does anyone know the difference in weight of the 2 products? and is it really worth my while too change it around? thanks for the help

    Merida AM3000

hi thanks for all the comments!! i had some time yesterday and read a few mtb mags. i read a british mag, i think it was called mountainbike or something. anyway they had the review on the commencal 5.5.1 and gave it a 10/10. they also reviewed the Merida AM800 i know it isnt the same as the 300 but the frames are the same, and there was a bit of a issue with the flex in the rear end. i went too our local bike shop and spoke too the sales guy and he gave me a deal that i cannot resist. so i think i will be on a commencal 5.5.2!!!! thanks for your responses!!

    Merida AM3000

hi people i am looking into buying a Merida Am3000 in the next month or so. i have been doing a bit off shopping and looking around and found the Commencal Meta 5.5. it looks like a nice bike so now i am stuck between the 2 bikes. does anyone have any off these bikes? any info on either would be highly appreciated!! PS. i am looking for a bike that i can ride on all day long and on one that can take a bit off a beating. i dont wanna do massive jumps and drops but if something small comes along i am going to want to hit it!!! will these bikes handle it? thanks alot!!
