  4. Funny - but I like my medal - and I am not even a A racer - this is so valueble to me please do not destroy my only motivation for entering races. If you don't want the medal, don't take one - if you have a issue with medals go and tell someone who care.
  5. Stay clear from fusion -

  7. Pot - do you want some? - Dream big or go home
  8. I have been thinking - dreaming of a cycle race around the City. Thus the route will start some where at Rivonia or William Nicol. The route will then follow the N1 to the N12 offramp to Alberton/ Germiston, then onto the N3 to Pretoria and then back on to the N1 finishing at the start. Ideally this should be a night race (21:00) on a public holiday - lets say the Nelson Mandela commemorative race - with all proceeds going for charity. So to all race organizers what will it take to make this a reality?

    94.7 - 2012

I received the following in my mail box: 2012 entrants can expect a slight tweak in the route, but can still take pleasure in the same picturesque Finish area within the Waterfall Country Estate. Any one who have a idea?
  12. As in the past - great race. Good marchalling - motorbikes a definite must for all races. Saw more accidents than previous years but my opinion is that it is the fault of the cyclist. No patience - in big bunches try to pass over white line, and then when cars comes from the front we just have to make place irrespective that the left side is already full. Heman, I assume that you are the rider in the standard bank kit? Also started in BL and went to the front twice in the beginning - but soon realised that the organisation of a pace line is not going to work - so I just had a good ride.
  13. Don't worry - I haven't seen that many people who drop back - will see on the day how I feel This race is one of my favorates...
  14. Can't comment on behalf of the organisers, but every time that I participated, i did not experience any problems with the seeding. I personally think that you know your own ability and If you are seeded in a group which you should not be in that you should drop down. I also think that the A bunch “quality” have in proved compared to a couple of years ago. Personally If i get seeded to the A bunch I will drop down to B, because I ended up doing the Emperors on my own. I then met up with the BL’s at 60KM and finished the race with them. My average would have most probably been higher If I started with the BL

    Ride for Sight

Had a great ride, unfortuantly my wife left her legs at home. Request - can we cut the first 2 Km out of this Race? For the old diesel to warm up – I need time please The main bunch of tandems have been very inconsiderate and just left us… - 5 lonely tandems to do the whole route all on our own. I like the medal. Good race Great Marshalling
  16. This issue have been going on for years - I remember the Kremetart being timed by Racetec an that year it was seeded. The next year well we all know the history - in a free and transparent economy we would expect this not to be a problem - Personally I want to be seeded on all my Races not just those prescribed by ....
  17. ja this is so that the guys and gals can have a wheel to suck. You should feel privilaged
  18. Imagine that if there was no challenges and it was just smooth sail - err riding and how boring the race would be... Specifically for the poor late starters - short riders who have to endure all the shouting to keep left - because of BL, CL nrs 455 - 999 etc... think that the firstplace spot is really gonna matter in the big picture. Have to admit I was quite disapointed by the verbal outrage by some of these RACERS at these riders some younsters with there mothers who cycle for the fun and who don't understand or have the experiance what the BL, CL, DL riders have. My little rant for today
  19. On a side - why was this race not listed on the supercycling webpage?
  20. I always enjoy this race - nice fast and flat - for big people like me little drag in the middle not a problem. Looking forward to it
  21. Thank you - I am aiming for 2:55 Ride for Sight - If I can have a Ave speed of 37Km/h should do for both Argus and Ride for Sight. Got a D seeding for Argus
  22. I have been dopping every Saturday afternoon on Brandy and Coke - now I need the contaminated meat - biltong salt and all steak to round it off on my races. My results proof that I am guilty....
  23. Pessimist – may your mirror shatter to pieces with 7 years of ....
  24. I was wondering if you do the race in under 3 hours if you can still make assumption that you are on tract for sub 3 Argus. I know that terms and conditions apply - besides my mirror tells me that we are going to have a windless and overcast day this year.
  25. Ja we ride with the MP3 because we get dropped and then its a lonely ride Just kidding
