    Also in &. I plan on riding to the start, so that's my warmup (about 8km). Will probably arrive around 6am, so about 20mins in the pen, which should (hopefully) get me in the front half, if not front third. I'm less fussed about being on the front row though.

    An update: naked want a receipt or valuation certificate. Given my bike has been upgraded about 15 times, a receipt won’t cut it, so will need to take it to my LBS to get it all valued

    Just went through the process this morning: CycleSure quoted R560 to insure a R100k bike (with PPA "discount"). Naked quoted R281.

    50km/h headwinds predicted and now we have to pay this aero penalty 😂

    Pretty certain this is a direct result of the PPA race: - crashes in A meant a slower finish time for A relative to B and C - for some reason they only adjusted the finish time for seeding purposes by 2mins This means a whole bunch of B & C (like a hundred from each) are now in $,@,& (myself included) 100% sure the groups will split early, though the wind forecast for the southern parts is looking quite grim if you get dropped off the back

    Yes, but they've done it a bit differently this year. Those doing PPA didn't even get a first seeding group, they held them all back until after they've presumably done some calcs off the back of that race.

    Yeah, I'd love to know what this does to @DieselnDust's theory that "sub 15 index pretty much guarantees a racing group" (I paraphrase, but it's largely accurate) Gonna be a lot of those from today (many from C group...)

    I have to agree, even though this seeding significantly helps me. There’s no way a 2:50 today equates to an 11 index in any rational world, and yet…

    Oh my, I did not expect that. winning time only adjusted by 1 min, beta of 0.69. my index went from 23 to 11 😂
