  1. Was also on the gravel bike, bit irritating to not be allowed onto Tafelberg, even to get to the jeeps at the first switchback.
  2. Thought I saw an SA jersey coming off signal hill 😉
  3. The nice thing about my weekend plans is that, as long as I can get to Oasis, I'm fine. If a road is closed on a ride, I'll just turn around and go get the distance somewhere else. The advantage of not doing a loop (this time 😀) For those wondering, my 3 days: Day1 (first up and down of the Ceder245, then back to Oasis to pick up my companions, who will hopefully have had breakfast by then. We'll roll out towards Wupperthal and back again) Day2 (First 55k of the Ceder140, to the bottom of Uitkyk, and back again) Day3 (Oasis to Op Die Berg, first 60k of Ceder245)
  4. Will do, I'm not doing this weekend, but am heading to Oasis for 3 nights the following weekend to get some gravel and climbing in the legs ahead of the main race in October. Plan is to do out-and-backs from Oasis, using it as a base. So will do the Groot Rivier Hoogte pass, before turning around and heading to Wupperthal, and then back to Oasis Next day is to the bottom of Algeria and back. Last day is one way to Op die Berg, where I'll jump in the car.
  5. Agreed, but at least the video gives a nice view of some of the climbs, which are hard to put into perspective otherwise.
  6. Also worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYTn7BafzCw
  7. Well the Ceder race folks are having a weekend recce out there this weekend, so we'll see by next Monday whether they managed to use it or not https://www.instagram.com/p/C95Ob3xKKgO/?img_index=1
  8. I reckon some words may be said about that last overtake though
  9. 1km to go, absolute watt bombs being thrown by Pidcock & Koretzky
  10. Hatherly looks like he's doing 40-20s. Drops off, works back, drops off, etc. Hanging well
  11. Alan pulls it back, 3 together at the bell
  12. 5s gap from 1st to Pidcock & Hatherly at split 1, lap 7
  13. 6 laps Koretzky -> Hatherly & Pidcock (17s) -> Chase grp (6s)
  14. 5 laps Koretzky -> Hatherly (13s) -> Chase group (23s) Pidcock trying to close gap to Hatherly
  15. Just to pick up on this, it's been covered before, but the Spez Align helmet is really well priced when you consider the safety rating, highly recommended.
  16. I had the same. sent them pics from all angles of the bike, full inventory of all parts, and whatever receipts I had. They accepted that. failing that, my LbS offers an “evaluation certificate “ for R150, which I was going to do if needed
  17. No complaints, feels nice, feels solid.
  18. Also started using it this week. Much easier on the old laptop than myWhoosh (and no 17gb downloads....) Very impressed thus far
  19. Do you need us to enumerate the differences between a local trail race and a bike race that many people travel 3 hours to?
  20. Link please, want to print a few as a joke
