  1. I’ve made character groups with an index of 15-17 last year and the year prior
  2. Yeah, agreed. Also considering a lot of low index riders where absent, which means the average index of $ was probably higher than normal. That would lead to a lower adjusted winning time.
  3. 99er seeding is out: Beta of 0.88, which is low, but I've seen lower (it was 0.8 for the 2023 99er) But adjusted winning time is where the difference comes: Actual winner was 2h09, adjusted winning time is 1h59 😐
  4. Yeah, I suspect we'll get an adjusted winning time and a low beta because of (a) great conditions and (b) far fewer elites because of nationals.
  5. Couple of edits from the race: mine: temp_video_353016562115940352.mp4 someone else who caught the crash in A: bd9ef5ca-4fe6-4535-b6d1-78ef48a233f2.mov Active Hobo edit by Alec:
  6. big crash in A only 2km in was the only blemish in our race. Happened about 10th wheel and took out a lot of the bunch. Still not clear what caused it
  7. @NicholasH you go and do all that work on new tents at the finish area, and then you get a nice cool day with no sunshine 😂 Prime conditions, I got dropped twice and still beat last years time by 3mins
  8. @NicholasH is Adderley completely closed to cars again this year?
  9. Last year the front women started with men’s group behind the elites (which was %) So no, no separate race start (unless they’ve changed something)
  10. With regards to how seeding actually works:
  11. TT Start List: https://www.wpcycling.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/WCT-Start-List-TT-v2.pdf And something to take note of for Sunday:
  12. I suspect he's saying "if you halved the price you'd get double the riders" (since currently the entry fee is ~R820). With that said, as others have pointed out, current gravel entry fees: Gallows: R1350 Ceder: R2450 Around the Pot: R1295 Race to the Sea: (can't find it) Canola Roller: R1100 So honestly, I don't think attacking the organiser charging R820 is the right way to go...
  13. Ok, so if I have a CSA license, do I need a racing license for WP Champs? I see no mention of it on their facebook post, or the event page
  14. So there are 3 things in play here: - CSA License (R325) - Racing License (R600) - Day License (R70) (no clear wording if this replaces a CSA license or a Racing license, though I suspect the former)
  15. Yeah, very confusing. So I now have CSA membership and a 1 day racing license, and that allowed me to enter on the WP Cycling site, so I assume I'm sorted.
  16. I'm a bit confused. WP Cycling just posted this: But on the CSA website, you have the option to purchase a day racing license for either the TT or the road race: Am I misunderstanding what "day license" means?
  17. @guidodg can you confirm 19 Sep 2026 date? Trying to get a head start on accommodation booking
  18. One of ours, and I must say, having listened to more @J Wakefield podcasts than I can remember, it was actually kind of refreshing to listen to one where he didn't have to answer "what about Zone 2/what about torque intervals/what about 165mm cranks?" 🤣
  19. <delete>
  20. Page has jumped the shark a bit there, and the mask as to who runs it seems to be slipping a little. We seem to have moved from good natured banter to all out vitriol and name calling. Also, not sure what they're hoping to achieve by swearing at the sponsors (who created a podium specifically for a silly amateur side-race) on instagram and in strava posts, but 🤷
  21. I’m relatively sure that one is 60k at ECC
  22. Not my day (cramps, heat, etc), but got some nice footage from the first half:
  23. Mother with Remco, can you even imagine 🤣
  24. X4 air. Will play around with and without the protectors. Also bought replacement lenses, just in case...
  25. Content game for DC just levelled up
