  1. Winner’s time is adjusted using linear regression to “what would a winner with an index of 0 have gotten in theory?” if you want more examples, I did a deep dive on this a week or two ago:
  2. The highest placed “Duncan” at Tour de PPA did 3:45:21 assuming that’s you, that gives a seeding of 56
  3. Slight nitpick: It's Ben Swift in 78th 😉
  4. Nah, B batch was never on it, okes were happy with their CTCT seedings and were just out for a training ride. i closed down two gaps on adderly doing 250W for about 5mins, there were no fireworks until the stupid final sprint
  5. Also seeing the above, on phone and laptop
  6. Seeding has been done beta=0.94 winning time=2:26 (Would have thought Stefan de Bod had an index very close to 0, but 🤷😂)
  7. Last year was a whole thing, go read the thread 😂
  8. Yes, always the same Though I “think” previously the A batch neutral extended for the full 5k, not sure why they ended it at the Vissershok circle this time. At least they seemed to apply the neutral consistently across the batches this year, last year the tandems and B caught A in the neutral zone because they weren’t neutralised.
  9. Two okes from D did catch B as we turned onto Adderley. Same guys who dropped from $ to % at 99er , just out for some fun😂
  10. I think we all know no one from B is improving their seeding off the back of that. Seemed like everyone just wanted a nice training ride.
  11. There were a lot of dodgy wheels in B. Also a lekker coffee ride at 21km/h once we turned into the wind 😂 Sprint got very messy at the end, decided it wasn’t worth the risk and rolled in
  12. No character groups in this race, so A=$ from 99er, B=%, C=A, etc, etc Except smaller groups, fewer groups, as it's a much smaller race.
  13. There is a 24" Hades: https://bicyclegarage.co.za/products/titan-hades-24-trail
  14. Nah, I know people already seeded in 6C, so more likely either random, or PPA.
  15. Ok, I see yours isn't there. Possibly due to your PPA entry. Here's yours: And here's a different Chris:

  17. As @cadenceblur says, it’s not quite dead. It lives in a weird twilight zone and does indeed have CTCT start groups on it
  18. Emails going out, also if you look at your racetec page it’ll (probably) have your start group on it
  19. Right, the form: https://forms.gle/TprTU3spWFY6tSj19 Responses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VBkxKOr0rqnnazOO9ibAeurBbBCcuGiZBa3WdDzQXWw/edit?usp=sharing 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 responses. Shout if I've messed anything up...
  20. I think I did it last year, will find it and set it up again, give me a few mins...
  21. From personal experience, the "easiest" way to move up is join a strong DC team. DC gets a big beta (1.42 last year), and you get to ride with people stronger than you. A 5:44 last year (yes, I know it's a good time, but it's an hour slower than the winners) got me a 16.13 index, which is a massive headstart (essentially B group, or % in 99er) coming into the new year's races.
  22. I will note that finish time say you can mount it to your front fork if you want that extra 1m for the sprint finish: https://www.shova.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Finish-Time-Board-Mount-info.pdf This seems... unwise... 🤣
  23. One of those fancy insta360 handlebar selfie sticks with the board on the end 👌😂
  24. Doing it, but more for the final race sharpening than seeding. Fingers crossed it's less of a ****show than last year 🤞
