I am yet to find that same instant satisfaction in cycling, nothing beats the feeling when you are 150-200m off the ground and you manage to hang onto that tiny sliver of a "ledge" and make it to place the next cam / nut etc.

I don't do many races thus I use Strava to gauge my progress against a few people that I respect and trust so yeah, it would seriously cheese me off if I started getting flagged for no reason.

Only if you use 650b Skewers and 29er valve caps. Still trying to find a suitable supplier for 29er Seatposts, my 27.4er post is just not comfortable on the 29er.
