  1. Scrap that, think my garmin was showing moving time. We lost a bunch of time on a sidewall cut, :-(
  2. These have not been adjusted for the 30 min delay, my garmin has us at 1:55 but results at 2:13, :-( Edit: Eish
  3. Nice gentle ride out today, stayed with my partner's wife as it was her first race, still managed a 1:55 on the 35km so quite proud of her. He bailed after 15kms with a sidewall cut, 650b crossmarks are crap, about the 6th issue we have had on his bike in 6weeks.
  4. Stephan, was that the same one at Holla last week when we waited out the rain? Really nice bike, hope you get it back!
  5. I would for the winter version, it's perfect. The summer one can get very slippery and messy
  6. Looks like we are back in town in time, pending the weather I will be there again.
  7. On way back from lifestyle Balito.
  8. Awesome riding out there on Sunday, did 20 odd Kms with some serious climbing!
  9. Purple with the silver loop at the end was fun, wanted to do maroon, may still go do it later this week
  10. Pending weather and holiday confirmations we will be there again this year.
  11. Agreed, will probably do it as I'm starting to spray more things, I did my plumbing in my kitchen when we rebuilt in copper and its such a pleasure to work with, with minimal tools required. Edit: Grammar Nazi
  12. For a Porsche finsh, sure, you need that, perhaps overkill for a MTB frame that will get bashed up again eventually,
  13. Yip, quite easy, we spray our model planes, same process. 1. Builders warehouse for 24 - 50l compressor, 24l will be more than enough for a frame (and tubeless conversions etc), when you start bigger projects you dont want the thing trying to keep up all the time and even worse having to wait for it to build up pressure while you are halfway through a run. R1000- R1200 2. Tony's colours (OR any autobody paint supplier) for Spray gun, approx R250-350 for a decent one, you dont need a massive one, a frame would only need around 200ml paint 3. Tony's again for paint and supplies (Some places only mix in 500ml batches): a. 250ml - 2K Primer b. 250ml - 2K Colours (you can get them to mix any colours) c. 500ml - 2k Hardner d. 250ml - 2k Clear e. 5l Thinners - we use the cheap stuff, have found no difference in using 2k thinners vs laquer thinners f. Couple of mixing cups and possibly a mixing ruler (both the cups and the ruler give you an easy way to get your ratios right) Google some youtube vids for spraying, quite simple once you have the paint consistency right and you remember not to release the trigger mid way over the area you are painting, always start before and let go once you are past the thing you are painting.
  14. Finished my rack this weekend, all in all about 8hrs labor and some useable "spare" steel that was lying around (My brother has been buiding a trailer for his Paraglider thus it was "spare" steel, :-) ) Been sent off to the powder coaters this morning, should have it back tomorow or Wednesday by the latest, then to fit the end caps in the sq tubing. Its fully adjustable for wheelbase, width between bikes and various frame sizes (Had my daughters 16" little bike on it with my 29er), just need to cover the frame "clamp" with some plstidip once it comes back from the P/C guys. Edit: Also will get a Number plate / light board on the back to stay legal

  18. CWC has this one on their site now: http://www.cwcycles....sen-chrome-stem
  19. My way is just to support the frame and hit it from the top with a block of wood and a hammer, then to replace the cups you need some 8mm threaded rod, some oversized washers and 8mm nuts, then you can evenly squeeze it back in.
  20. Aw shucks guys, have a late morning and the hub goes all soft, what happened to "Moer mekaar Mondays"?? Vets, really a pleasure to be in a position to help out a little, it is the spirit of thehub after all. Will get it on its way to you ASAP. Edit: Spelling
  21. I also have some Stans blobs around 3-4 of my spoke nipples, appears my rim strip has degraded to the point of needing replacement, planning on doing it when i change the tire next (or when yet another spoke breaks)
  22. Sorry, but that one is spoken for!!! [insert ninja smiley here] Just kidding, will make a plan to get it to you tomorrow.
  23. Replacement for mine that has seen a few brushes with the rocks and some extras for some mates. Really like the Charge seatpost too, now to go grease it and put it on the bike.
