  1. Record it when they re broadcast, usually re broadcast about 3-4 times.
  2. Should maybe let the off road biking community know about this, this area is quite popular with them as well.
  3. Try your current car/household insurance.I pay around R125,this is for 17k bike, gps(non cycling),daughters ipod and 2.5k mountainbike.I have had 2 claims in the past ,one for wheels and one for the frame, insurance just asked for a quote and deposited money straight into my account within a week, didnt even appoint an assessor in both cases. From posts on the forum it seems alot less hassle than the dedicated bike insurance packages.
  4. Inspect the frame carefully,I also had a ticking noise and eventually it came down to the chainstay that was cracked close to the bottom bracket shell that was causing the noise. Malkie2009-03-04 02:05:27
  5. Nothing new saw Robbie Hunter on ontdekkers last week without his helmet.
  6. Think it all depends on the insurance company. The couple of claims I have had my insurance just asked for a quote from a bike shop,no assessor even got involved, they transfered the money straight into my account.
  7. As far as I know the whole driving range will be closing mid 2009 as the land its on is going to be developed.
  8. Not true, the unit does have a built in Uhf/Vhf tuner.
  9. Game did stock it at some stage, not sure if they have any stock left,if they do have stock remember to ask them to match the Stax price for you,if they dont have stock give Stax a call I am sure they can arrange for the unit to be sent to you. If you have any issues with the unit you can have sorted in the WC as the service agents are Mastercare and they are nationwide, just keep your original proof of purchase. Just a note on the unit with the TV it does not have a built in rechargeble battery,so you will need power to use it whether it be mains or via a car charger, all the other units mentioned in this post will have built in re chargeble baateries.
  10. http://www.stax.co.za/images/9.html another option you can look at,the TEAC unit for R899 ,its a dvd player,tv(built in tuner)comes with a small antenna, radio, alarm clock only thing is it doesnt come with a car charger but you can buy that seperately if needed. This is a give away price half the original cost. 11. Try Game, they have the Teac-usually on special @R1499-R1599.Its got twin 7" screens, comes with a carry bag ,it can strap to the headrests of the car perfect if you got kids.Comes with a car lighter charger and normal wall socket charger also got 2 sets of ear-phones.
  12. Pity nobody ever stands up for the poor blonde chicks.
  13. You should be fine, only problem you may encounter this time of the year is mist, visibility low, wouldnt recomend riding in the mist.If you have never ridden in this area prepare for a couple of tough days in the saddle, the road always seems to be going up,tough but very rewarding .

    Creatine

Heard an interview with Dr Tim Noaks he also reckons creatine is all hype.
  15. Got a pair of Addistar pro carbon shoes, great shoe, reason because they were the bargain price of R500,RRP R1999.
  16. Saw our national road champ riding on the R59 heading north about 5km from the blockhouse 1-stop at around 9 45 yesterday morning. He must have a death wish with all the trucks on the road that time of the day.

  18. Be carefull on basing info on the international sites.Had an unpleasant experiance with a Fuji frame basing info on the international site(which the importers here quote in their local advertising),contact the importer and ask them what the warranty is.Also find out if you do have a claim if the frame will be immediately available locally or does it first have to be sent from overseas, this could take a month or longer if its the latter.
  19. The tip mentioned actually comes out of the current bicycling magazine from a reader,in the Rider to Rider section pg 42 submitted by Piet.

    Solomons

I went there a couple months back to check their claimed specials. They are true the catch is that the bikes(frames) on special are usually bigger than average sizes,so the special isnt on the whole size range only basically on the un common sizes thats old left over stock.
  21. No matter what frame you buy, check how their replacement policy works in the case of a warranty claim ie do they have the frame available locally in stock or does it have to be braught in from overseas.I had the latter case with a Fuji replacement frame, this took a month and a half to arrive after 2 weeks of hagaling with the agents(2 month total),I ended up buying a differant brand as I couldnt be without a ride that long and than had to sell the replacement when it arrived. Double check on the warranty details that the shop claims the bike has,I was told that it has a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner, when it was time to claim the agent said only 3 years warranty but when I checked the international website they quote on all their marketing it said what the bike shop did-limited lifetime waranty for the original owner.
  22. My apologies, did not meen to insult anyone, was just giving my opinion on my experiance in Bots. This opinion is on the geography of the country and not the people,in comparison to SA I think it is flat and dull.
  23. Dont know about Nam,but cant agree that Botswana is scenic(exept maybe for the Okavango). I go there for business and Bots must be the flatest dullest place Ive been too(landscape does not change in 450km from Gabarone to Francistown),as for roads being great cant agree there either, people also dont know how to drive . As far as crime if you speak to South Africans that work there, they say they also have their fair share of crime, its just not reported as much. One of my clients neighbours stole his newly planted trees out of his garden in broad daylight. Give me SA anyday.Malkie2008-03-30 04:13:49
  24. Very nice, youve made quite a few leaps in the upgrades from the old 105 cranks you baught from me a couple a months back, enjoy!
