  1. If your axle has balls bearings then it will need to be greased.
  2. Keeping your skewer greased keeps it from rusting, especially if it is a cheapy. The better quality ones don't rust so easy. I find that vaseline works very well
  3. Are specifically talking about bicycles here?
  4. I usually polish my frame with Mr Min afetr cleaning. It gives the paintwork a smooth feel and makes cleaning easier the next time around. Spray and cook has a wax base, so while it helps to make cleaning easier, it will attract dust and dirt a lot quicker. I wonder how well Spray-n-cook will work on a chain
  5. Had a pair of Spez carbon Pro shoes. gave me terrible cramps in my toes and hotspots under the feet
  6. It comes standard with brake boosters. It helps with the extra stopping power needed. Also had a nice beeeeg 55T DA blade fitted on the crank
  7. We got the same hassles up here in GP. My wife is also battling to get appointments. She was lucky to get one on the 29th of this month after battling for a while. Going through a driving school does sometimes help. They know all the tricks of the trade to speed up the process a bit for their students.
  8. Where can I get one My CC is max out and the bank won't give me more credit
  9. Pansie. 56/48 - 21/11 Who needs a 21? Tape up the last gear!!!!
  10. Quickdraw it looks like the carbonweave has been damaged due to over tightening or the bars have just had a hard life. Are these bars full carbon or just carbon wrapped. If they are carbon wrapped they should be ok, but if they full carbon I would replace them. Cut up the bars and use as pea shootersSpeed Devil2008-11-18 12:47:49
  11. Now I know why I pay so much a month for my MA conribuitions
  12. Who is the prince of darkness?.......Eishkom??
  13. This is axactly why some people need to go for parental classes and aptitude tests to see if they will be fit parents. My son turns 4 next month, and there is no way he will even get on a quad bike, nevermind own one at his age. How the hell can someone expect a child to contol a machine like that when they are barely able to ride a bicycle? I wonder if that kid's training wheels have been removed from his bike yet I feel very sorry for the boy and hope for a full recovery for his part. As for the parents, I hope they have learnt a new word in their vocabulary....NO!!!!!
  14. You should know....cause you've had to do that test a few times after a ride
  15. I tried to save a document to my desktop last week and then the background of all the icons turned blue. How do I restore the defaults?
  16. I shudder at the thought of all the chips and scratches the paintwork would pick up while being locked up like thatSpeed Devil2008-11-12 14:23:20
  17. I was refering to the bit about the wheel being held back by the axle and then accelarating after breaking loose.
  18. That's because the forces created by gases coming out the outlet manifold blasts it off the back of the car....similar to what happens to humans (the only difference is that our exhaust stays intact)
  19. I agree SP If that was true then I should have been dead a long time ago. I drink up to 4 liters of coke a day in the summer and in winter when it's cold 8-10 cups of coffee a day Even the story that too much coke and coffee causes kidney stones.....hell, I should have had rocks passing through my system by now
  20. JB, Luckily I have not had any of this happen to me but have witnessed it once before....the wheel coming off and overtaking the vehicle. All explanations above are technically correct, although no scientific calculations/explanetions have been given. Madmarc's explanation is correct, but don't forget that besides the applied force by the axle, once the wheel leaves the vehicle, the rotational inertia will also help speed up the wheel seeing as it is much lighter than the vehicle that it came off. Once it starts bouncing it's momentum will also increase, as their is less resistance in air than when it simply just rolls along the tar.
  21. Oooh... Look at that... you just relieved yourself all over tazman's bonfire That's going to make stink
