  1. Sabie...THE BEST! You and your Garmin, and you can do anything. I have downloaded many Sabie routes and then went to ride it using the Garmin. It is just awesome! I am planning to do the Sabie pre-ride in October, just to see what lies ahead for us in the Sabie Experience!
  2. O you know have all the guys droooooling. Shame on you! Nah, just kidding. Glad you enjoyed it! BTW: Thx for the attack on the last hill. I couldn't let a lady simply beat us all on the hill. We have our egos end pride to protect you know. Psssst...Do not tell anyone but of the hill was any longer, you probably would have passed me, but that will be our secret.
  3. Geezzzz.....haven't even seen this much excitement around a ride....Goodbye Argus...Goodbye 94.7...HALLO HUBRIDE!!!!!! I am still willing to meet at the Irene BP(I think) garage. It's at the bottom of Cornwall towards Centurion, just past the railway bride. not sure about street names.
  4. Really would love to know if this will happen . Admin...PLEEEEEEEEASE!
  5. What happened with this idea?...Just though I'd ask.
  6. I live in Centurion. Perhaps we can meet somewhere and ride together. Example: Irene cafe (not sure of street, but past Cornwall Hill, towards Centurion, just past train bridge??)
  7. OK I am in! It is my 7 year old son's birthday..but hey...the kiddies party must just start a tad later Think my wife will be happy?
  8. Not the Mode button. After picking up the satellites, holding the mode button will allow you to switch bike profiles. Hold the lap button for 2-3 seconds. That's why the word "reset" as above the lap button
  9. Just an opinion...yes I would split notice board and classifieds.
  10. Thx a million Admin. I respect your view regarding the classifieds, but let's face it, so many good deals have taken place and there are many many honest people on the hub. I currently use this hub solely as the place of seeing what is for sale. In summery..THE HUB RULES!!! Great idead on the categories...you have my vote!
  11. I just send a PM... Let's see what happens.
  12. So how do we get Admin to acknowledge this hub request?
  13. yip, that would be great too. At this stage any form of grouping would be appreciated.
  14. I was wondering if we cannot suggest to Admin if it would be possible to group the classifieds. Perhaps something like: Wheels, Frames, Bikes, General. Right now if one is just interested in wheels it takes a while to go through all the postings. I know there are search functions available, but it does not always return exact results. What do you think?
  15. Found some dealers on the web. Will give them a call tomorrow to get some prices...
  16. I just received a quote from R&A Cycles. If I want the frame delivered via FedEx it will cost $300 for shipping....Ouch!!! Who are the resellers for Specialized in Pta/Jhb? Anybody knows?
  17. surely if you buy a Specialized from a normal bike shop overseas that cannot be prevented from shipping it? Just a thought? BTW: Does anyone know CKT frames?
  18. taxes i.e. custom duties? Just shipping and VAT?
  19. no they probably won't! But I simply entertained the idea with the slight possibility that shipping might not be that much. The bike is being sold by R&A Cycles in the US. I guess I will will keep on looking...
  20. now that looks like a real deal! discount if I take front or back half only?
  21. definitely saw that one....unfortunately I ride a 56cm frame
  22. I have been looking at Carbon Frames locally and it seems that due to inflation/interest rates/exchange rates etc one cannot buy a decent frame for under R20K. As such I have noticed that I can buy a Specialized Tarmac Expert Frame (2007 model) for $1400 (around R11K). Not sure about shipping yet but I have asked them. Should I consider this? I know the argument about warranty etc will come up, but geez I can save a lot of money.
  23. I have had dealings with www.totalcycling.com , www.comobike.com, www.racycles.com. All of them very professional with no problems whatsoever.
  24. IMHO Solomon's are a bunch of THIEVES!!! A while back I was looking for an Ultegra cassette and phoned around. Solomon's was the cheapest so I bought it. Never got around to fitting the cassette for a few months. When I got around to doing it I opened the package (Solomons "wrapping") to find that it is a Tiagra cassette. I obviously was very upset but since it was a couple of months later they were not interested in sorting the matter out at all. My opinion: Do not buy from them.
