Hog, I love hearing these positive stories. I was going to recommend Mike's Bikes but didn't know what bikes they had in stock. I have just ordered a high end bike from them after building my way up from an entry level bike (it happens, watch out!) and was really pleased with the service. They offered me a discount on the recommended retail, swapped all my components across from my old bike to build up the best of both, and set me up really perfectly. And they're nice people. The guys from the shop joined me on my first ride with the new bike as well! Maybe I'll see you in there sometime...

My advice if you're looking at Shimano components is to look at Deore and up (Deore, LX, XT). When the components are a lower spec than this, they are usually not that long lasting, or designed for real offroad riding. Oh and if you get it before Sunday, come join us at Northern Farm for a Hubber shindig!

DR! I'm disgusted! Not being there, sheesh The Thug, Superdad is FAST! I pushed really hard on Sunday and he told me that he could ride at this pace all race?!!! But I did beat him up the hills occassionally (must be the new bike LOL)

Thyolo, NF is open to walkers, horse riders, MTBers, bird watchers, etc so definitely great for the whole family. B will be setting up the breakfast next to the lake, look for posts under training about previous breakfast rides...

Thyolo, my hubbie prepares bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, toast, orange juice, coffee, tea, even sausages sometimes! So i'm sure we can feed you!

So... we all have a birthday to celebrate at some point in time, and mine is tomorrow ;-) I'd like to celebrate with my friends by throwing a Birthday/ Breakfast ride at Northern Farm on Sunday. As usual, we will make it a fun ride, always making sure EVERY rider is having fun. After we've finished having fun on the bikes, we will join the non-riders at the dam for a full English breakfast prepared by my amazing Super-husband! Date: 20th May 2007 Time: 8:00 am Place: Northern Farm Plan: Ride until finished, eat til full, celebrate good times. Let me know numbers. My hubbie usually asks for about R20 per person to cover the costs of the breakfast goodies. He is very versatile and has catered for vegetarians and Halaal before!
