  1. Age is in the eye of the beerholder.
  2. Hehe. JP had a Tracer in that bright works blue. Every time i saw his bike, it made me curse my decision to buy a white one. Aah well, after 3 years my one is now due for a fresh paint job me thinks....
  3. You go boykie. Gonna luv that thing. All mtbikes are cool, but only one is Intense.
  4. Jip, also recently invested in Castelli bibs after wearing Cape Storm for a very long time. Had I known then what I know now, I would have invested in Castelli many many many moons ago. Fits like a glove and padding is so much better. Plus it's Italian. Nuff said.
  5. If this goes on much longer that Ibis could lose it's mojo.
  6. Bell Volt. Had to replace my Bell Sweep after 9 years....
  7. But dude, you're missing the bigger picture here.... ALL 29'rs are epic failures.
  8. Shoe. For a moment there I thought we lost you for good.
  9. MH seems to have taken nicely to his new found weight weener status. Also showing no remorse for selling the Intense...
  10. Exactly. Ag you now, from a financial point of view, one can never justify spending 30k on a frame. You can only really measure it against the width of your post ride smile!
  11. Ja, look the Carbine is a fantastic bike. JP van Zyl at Recycles has one, and yes, it is better (lighter, stiffer etc etc) than the Tracer. But maybe 10% better, if that. So you know I figured, rather than flogging R30k, why don't I just get 10% better (lighter, fitter etc). Buuuuuuuut, having said all of these nice things..... I would still give my left ball for some Carbine goodness.
  12. Totally agree. I was also looking to replace the Tracer with a Carbine frame, but same thing. Just can't get myself to spend 30k+ on a frame. The old lady will just have to keep running.
  13. Hehe. Be warned. That section can be very addictive....so take a few GU's along just in case....
  14. Don't you dare crash that thing Nige.
  15. Cap you pretty much have it spot on. Continue up on the jeep track past the sub station, staying on the farm side of the fence. It's literally the first turnoff right into the vinyards once you started going up next to the fence. And then it's probably another 100 metres or so and you'll see the entry to the section on your left. It's actually marked with a board, so you can't miss it.
  16. Do the HD's not feel sluggish at all? They look a lot "fatter" (for lack of a better word) on the rim than HR's of the same size? So I guess they grip like snot, but is the downside not a bit of sluggishness?
  17. Once my High Rollers are kaput, I will definately give the Hans Dampf's a go upfront. Especially since you said one can run them very pap. Which I likey. So for the front I'm sorted. Just need to find something good for the rear.
  18. Hehe. Jeepers it's just baffling the range of choice. So the odds of buying the wrong tyre for your specific application are pretty good (e.g. my stupid non snake skin version of the Nobbless Nic...). But you seem to understand what these tyre manufacturers are on about, so expect a few calls from me!
  19. But that's just the problem. I rock up at P n P to get my toob of basic red/white/blue and then you can't find the damn thing between all the other gazillion options. And after spending a fruitless 30 minutes searching for the precious, I then end up buying Colgate.
  20. Faaaakit. It's becoming as complicated to buy tyres as it is buying Aqua Fresh toothpaste... there's like 27 different types... I just wanna brush my teeth/ride my bike.....too much choice?
  21. Haha. No problemo. But I think you'll like the new section. Quite similar to G-Spot, obviously just shorter. Towards the end there's a tricky little rocky step down/drop off thingy immediately followed by a sharp right turn which has already seen it's share of land grabbing.
  22. Bummer dude. Glad you're better. Well lemme know if you ever in my neck of the woods and we can go check that section out. As usual, just be ready for the odd Cape Cobra, several 29'r riders and my girlfiend lying face planted on the trail.
  23. Ja, in this game there's a very fine line between hero status and hospital status. But I guess these guys are all trained pro's and are taking calculated risks. I hope.
  24. Haha! Those were the days. Talking about Majik, there's the kiffest little new section going down to the Bloemendal side with some really cool berms and a few jumps/drop offs. Not sure if you've ridden it?
  25. MH.... pleeaaaaase tell me you didn't trade in the Intense for a....... Scott.....
