    The Big 30

    Hey, but downhills are fun?
  2. Erm... according to my calculations it's 25% better than a naainer, but still 75% kakker than a 26'r. Takes coat and heads for door.
  3. Enjoy it ou Bees. It's a great (dare I say, life changing) experience. It was for me anyway. Just don't underestimate the race. "Fear the Epic"... it will keep you going on those training days when it feels like you left your legs at home.

    swim sets

Jeepers boet, it's sounds like an interesting set. I unfortunately only have one speed: moderate. If I go fast, I get tired, I sink to the bottom and drown. If I go easy, I can't keep myself above the water, I sink to the bottom and drown.... sorry, I'm a mtbiker, and we don't swim that well! But hey, my moderate speed got me through an Ironman!
  5. Hmm... I don't really care about other guys' futures, as long as mine involves 26'rs.
  6. Thx Francois. Will do. Will be interesting to compare the photo quality to the G15's.
  7. I'm interested in getting a smaller camera to supplement my SLR. It's just for those instances where the SLR and all the lenses is a bit too bulky to tag along. I've seen good reviews of the Canon Powershot G15. Anyone have personal experience of the G15 or can you recommend anything similar? Shotto.
  8. Jip, agree completely. And also don't forget that swimming in the pool in your own lane is very different to having to share the space with another 3000 swimmers. Some people get flustered very quickly after a kick in the face or some oke trying to swim right over them. I guess the key is not to panic. Easier said than done though.
  9. The run course in EL is not as flat as in PE, so beware...
  10. i did my first 70.3 and full IM this year, and I definately enjoyed the full IM a lot more than 70.3. But i guess I'm more of a "diesel engine" than a sprinter, so the full probably suits me better.
  11. Don't tress too much about the swim. It's 10% of the race. Focus on the running. It's all about the run....
  12. Lived in Amsterdam for 2 years....
  13. I find your post a tad tasteless dude. I lost my mom to cancer last year after 9 months of hell on earth. And I imagine there's many other Hubbers who's been through the same ordeal. Maybe you should just think twice before posting jokingly relating to a subject as sensitive as cancer.
  14. Chris verdomp. Moenie dat ek oorkom en jou kom moer nie.
  15. We moslty had GU (the brew and the sachets) through out the day and then on the ride we took along some biltong just to settle the stomach with something solid and also to get that sweet taste out of your mouth. Was surprised how great the biltong worked.
  16. Intense goodness.
  17. Anyone know when the results of the Slanghoek tri event over the weekend will be posted on the website?
  18. I had the same problem on a carbon GT Zaskar. Changed to a slightly heavier rear rotor and the vibration went away.
  19. Me thinks the longer the travel, the smaller the wheel should be. Just a gut feel, not based on any facts.
  20. Have a Reverb on my AM and XC bike. And once i build up my hard tail again I'll put a Reverb on there as well. They really work extremely well. Can't imagine riding any bike without it.
  21. What's a spelunker? There I did my bit to keep the fred going...
  22. Yup. We did it with 1 hour a day (Monday to Thursday) and then 5 hour rides on Sat and Sunday. So ja, it can be done without spending 20 or more hours/week on the bike.
  23. Spray them with diluted Prepsol, let stand for 5 minutes, hose off and let dry in the sun. Brand new.
  24. Zula for president?
  25. Yup. Spez not bad, but if you think that it's "the best" out there, then you opviously haven't ridden anything made by, er... Intense, Morewood, Santa Cruz, Titus, Ibis, Rocky Mountain, Trek, Yeti etc etc etc....
