  1. Aaah. Ja, the Morewood thing does count for lots. He could actually be forgiven for riding NEON bikes in the past...
  2. You mean he had street cred to begin with? When was that?
  3. Don't scratch it....
  4. Toemaar Bos, moenie sleg voel nie. Ek het hard probeer om hom in die Intense rigting te stuur en dit het ook nie gewerk nie.
  5. Er... in this case I would say "DON't listen to Mayhem".
  6. Try different BP meds. I went through 3 different types over a period of a year to find one that actually works.
  7. Could be right. I'm on chronic medication for high blood pressure and when they at first discovered the problem, I had to wear a device that measures your blood pressure for 24 hours. When the stats came back it looked very similar to yours i.e. lower at home than at work. My blood pressure issue is purely stress related, and yours is probably too.
  8. Wes I recently bought the Shim AM 45's. They're really cool, but then you need to get the Shimano DX pedals as well. They definately don't work as well on normal Shimano clipless pedals(e.g. XT). Feel a lot more solid on the DX's.
  9. Nige there is an agent for Intense in SA. I bought my Tracer through a bike shop (Recycles) in Cape Town.
  10. +10000000000000000000000000000000000000000..... just get the Carbine. Listen to Mayhem. And I'm not even an Intense fan...
  11. Yup. I have 690mm on my xc bike and 710mm on the am bike. I've tried the 710's on my xc bike and funnily enough there it feels too long again. Probably because the stem is longer on xc bike (100mm vs 70mm on the am bike)
  12. Mine's a large with a 120mm Fox and Mavic Crossmax wheels, Maxxis monorails and XX/XT combo and is 11.7kg. So ja, 12kg is about the ball park for a decently specked Zula. I've ordered a dropper seat post, so that will in fact take mine also to 12kg.
  13. Kraai is taking the piss out of all of us. He's gonna get a road bike.
  14. Yup, if you're on a budget, steer away from Fox. I agree with Covie, not much diff in performance to the RS stuff. And ja, go for the Reba which is a better all rounder than the SID.
  15. Jungle Energy bars, bananas and a GU for when I'm really kakking off (which is most of the time)..
  16. Well I came from Nevegal's which I found tough to ride with. You just never knew when they would let go. With the HR's you at least know what's gonna happen and when. Hence my "predictable" comment. But ok, I don't push the grip envelope as far as you DH boykies, so maybe that's why you have a different experience with them?
  17. It's funny how certain tyres are more unhappy than others when riding them with too high pressure. Case in point is the Highroller 2.35 UST. When I got them I started off at 2 bar and they were just not hooking up the way I thought they should. I'm now running 1.5 bar and it's like a completely different tyre. Great predictable traction. So I guess the lesson here, is too play around with the pressure as much as possible until you find the sweet spot.
  18. Just get a dropper seat post dudes. No snagging ever again.
  19. I agree with everything Cap says about SLR's and Mavic. I've had 3 sets of SLR's over the years and now also have a set of SX's for AM bike. They really are the shizzle. Light, strong and looks great. The only teensy weensy complaint about the SLR's is that you will have to open the rear hub occasionally (+- every 1000km or so) and give it a bit of a cleaning and lube. It will take you (or the bike shop) 10 minutes.

  22. I seriasly think it needs to be reported.
  23. Er, sorry finger trouble... that looks like 26 inch X 26 inch wheels?
  24. That's look 26 inch x 26 inch wheels?
