  1. and what if you need to turn left?
  2. Ag jou groot vet moer ook!
  3. If you could only have one bike, then 650b is probably the way to go. But if you can afford more than one bike, then I would have a 26 inch "Jonkershoek play bike" and a 29 inch xc/marathon bike. Anyway that's my dream garage.
  4. Colonel Speedy..... could not be further from the truth.
  5. Shotto thx. Had a look at the Tritone. In one of the reviews they were complaining that the shape of the saddle (having basically no nose) goes from thin (in front) to thick (in the back) too quickly, so that they were struggling to find a sweet spot. But ja, saddles are so personal. What works for one person, will be a disaster for the next.
  6. Haha! Who stocks the ISM saddles down in Cape Town if I wanted to have a look? Haven't really seen them in the bike shops. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough...
  7. Thx Iwan. Gaan jou dalk opvat daarop. Het gelukkig nog biekie tyd om rond te kyk.
  8. Hehe. Not sure it's legal to put Troy Lee stuff on a tribike...
  9. Thx gents. Ja, the thing with the Gobi is that it has a very long nose, which doesn't work that well when in the tri position (..... as I discovered....... ).
  10. Hi guys, I need some advice in getting a better saddle to do Ironman next year. I have a normal road bike (Giant TCR) that I will be using. Did the 2013 IM with a Fizik Gobi, and although I luv the Gobi on my mtb, it wasn't as effective as a "tri" saddle, especially when you're sitting in the tri position using the tri bars. It got very uncomfortable during the second half of the bike leg. So please give me some ideas for saddles. Shotto. Banna
  11. Yup, that's it right there.
  12. Had that been me , you would have heard a very loud "o foooooooook" followed by an even louder crunching sound as I levelled those trees.
  13. Jeesh boet, it's just a thing of beauty. And like all Intense's I'm sure the ride will match the looks!
  14. Sorry if it's been posted already.... ag anyway, if bikes look this good it doesn't matter. And besides it's an Intense.

What about the VW Touareg? A bit pricy I guess.
  17. What a feeling! O ja, please notice the small wheels.....one oke along the way asked us whether they were 24 inch.
  18. Couldn't agree more boet. What an experience. Did my first one in 2010 and this year did my second one with my girlfriend, who's only been mtbiking for a year. Finished right towards the end of the field, but who cares. I'm just so proud of her.
  19. Running Conti X-Kings and XTR pedals. Riding with my trusty Morewood Zula. Probably gonna be the only oke with a 26'r!
  20. Or...... keep the Cotic as your sunday play bike and buy a 29'r as your xc/marathon/stage racing machine. This way you can start building on your bike collection.... the n+1 formula ring a bell....
  21. Bell Sweep has worked for me for many years.
  22. I had the Float 36 RLC (in fact I still have it, just haven't gotten around selling it). I think what frustrated me about the 36 is that lack of small bump compliance which the Revelation has an abundance of. The 36 is harsh/sticky in the first +-40% of the travel. As soon as you get through that first 40% (i.e. jumps/drops/rock gardens etc) then it becomes a lot smoother. But for normal trail riding (not talking AM here) you're most of the time playing in that sub 40% to 70% of the travel, which makes the 36 (in my opinion) not such a great trail fork. Yes for AM, it's perfect, so I guess (kinda obvious) you need to find a fork that fits the type of riding you're into. In my case more trail than AM, hence the Revelation works better for me.
  23. For sure. Look it's probably not fair to compare the Fox 36 to the Revelation. The 36 being more "big hit", where as the Revelation is more "trail" orientated, but stil, that dual air Revelation is just smooth as butter when set up correctly. And once you've experienced that butteryness, any other fork seems sticky and harsh by comparison. It's the sh*t.
  24. Couldn't agree more. Had a 150mm Revelation on my Tracer. Replaced it with a Fox 36. Went straight back to a Revelation.
  25. Me and the girlfriend are off at 8h12. Kick the tires, light the fires big daddy!!
