  1. Garmin 130+ has mtb dynamics. So basically will record your the jumps that you hit.
  2. and us trying to make rafts with just wood, that would float longer than 10 min on the vlei!
  3. Damn, I keep meaning to do that!! especially as I am mostly solo
  4. Indeed, it is people chasing strava times. Best to do that on the advanced lines and leave the beginner lines to the newbs. Like really, who wants a KOM on a beginner line!!!
  5. Just as long as the person coming up at a moerse speed behind you on an intermediate or beginner trail doesnt loose his **** mumbling mother f'er, ma se P etc like they do at To**** Happened to a newbie we too out at vasbyt a couple of weekends ago. Least to say, he does not want to ride there again.
  6. I have dealt with tracmac in the past, and this is many years ago and always had good service from them back then. Awesome it is still the same
  7. Naa, a trike isnt my thing.
  8. I was about to put in some enquiries on a ktm enduro or suzuki vstrom to commute with and keep fuel costs down, and the wife is like please dont!! I can handle having to worry about you commuting thru traffic etc etc. So now I am on the look our for a small 2 door 4 wheel box of some sorts. I guess no more street bikes for me unless I get a dedicated offroad race bike for the likes of dirt and dust or similar!!
  9. next time just wave them past
  10. I use a hip pack when I hike, which are around table mountain, Newlands to Hout Bay etc max one day hikes. They are perfect, but very irritating as the bounce all over my lower back area!! I have a kway hydration bag which is not bad at all even the straps are great, but then my wife bought me a uswe f3 no dancing monkey. I will never be able to use another bag. The bladder holds 3 liters, it has baffle which prevents the water from smashing about. The no dancing monkey x straps is like nothing else out there and has to be experienced. Then all the small compartments in the bag itself to pac various bits like multi, pump, snacks is well thought out.
  11. I put that one in there on purpose. We dont have any adaptive type trails that I know of.
  12. some examples from usa and canada These engraved into wood are cool, but I am sure are time consuming to make. Maybe quicker with a cnc machine or router.
  13. I have a matching chainring, stem, headset spacers and topcap. But I didnt get the bolts for the derailleur.
  14. The satellite image is by far the best one. It is also the easiest to read and locate. As long as the trails are adequately marked. I have never had the need to make use of trailforks or any other gps map to find my way cycling. Recently we got lost in the cederberg and we had a jol. Not once did we bother to refer to a gps map. We just kept riding until we saw signage. Sadly the trails were poorly or rather insufficiently marked. Meaning the trail heads were alot further than expected. So a sign or 2 along the way to indicate direction to trail and possibly how far could work.
  15. Nice!! I have been using one for a while now. Looks like a diff model though. They are extremely comfy and the no dancing monkey is a joy!!
  16. Fully agreed!!!!
