  1. thanks thats really helpful, may i ask was it an alloy or carbon full suss bike ?
  2. i am 1m87cm. usually a large bud. why you selling a tallboy?
  3. hi guys managed to get an entry to epic 2013. aiming to be a mid-pack finisher (please lord). R35 000 budget, do i go for low weight and go 29 Hard tail or comfort and a 29er full suss??? R40k for hardtail would give me a power machine, R35k for full suss would be an ok machine has as anyone done it on both?
  4. ritchey p29er, i have one and its pure magic , especially when you pull away from the carbon full suss spez crew boys on your 'old lookin' bike'!
  5. as a wannabe Epic rider, despite the knowledge that there is a lot of walking, sand, potential for bad weather conditions and that potentially you will meet your personal 'wall' somewhere out there, the Epic is the true yard-stick of every mountain biker. no one asks how many sani2c's you did, cos well, a granny on a road bike could do it. for me its a test, a physical and a mental one. hold thumbs i get in, wait till i do the epic, and then i might sing a different tune:)

    Balito Rides

Hey guys. Here in ballito for a week. What time is the bp group or any other group going out tomorrow?
  9. kim kardashian would wear these, not a cyclist!
  10. 2:31 in A bunch. the guys were a little lazy, no one to work in front, the route was great and the service for food shockingly slow! Bloem = Perth by the sea!
  11. if the price is right it will move. people over value their bikes, the market is bad for most goods.
  12. r3sl and look695..in truth there are so many great bikes now!!! the old equation is true, the number of bikes u need is n+1 with n being the number of bikes you currently own
  13. by the way i am in no way associated with either brand
  14. check out nalini or louis garneau (spelling) both make good kit at reasonable pricing. i have a set made by each and both are great, chamois is good and shirts hold their shape
  15. if your feet are normal to wide go specialized or shimano...otherwise sidi i have all three and shimano are super for long days, specialised are very good too...sidis are bling but give me hot spots
  16. sorry to brag but i have 2 in the top 20
  17. agreed but joburg drivers are the undisputed 'kings of the hooter'.
  18. guys my brother was involved in a huge accident last year, hit head on by a bakkie in suikerbos reserve (going wrong way). bottom line is that the local law system does not punish sufficiently to deter these crimes from happening. if we want more people to use public transport, bicycles, scooters etc we need to foster a culture of shared road usage, not one where the biggest car is king.

    LOOK 695

got my 695SR last week. . a sweet ride, the stem tracks the road nicely and absorbs all the vibrations, the crank is lean and the Bb65 much smaller than many current oversized BB's but on a 4/5% gradient the direct power transfer is amazing. having said that its not a night/day thing compared to my old bike (cervelo r3sl), more subtle differences.
  22. SUIKERBOS is not safe my brother was hit there by the cleaner going the wrong way. my boet spent 5 weeks in ICU and is lucky to be alive. the reserve openly states that they can drive how they want. so be careful if you go there, ill take my chances on public roads any day.
