Few years ago I finished the Argus in 3:00:01 (I nearly cried).

Sweet Seems Velo took 3 categories (that I can see) Mixed tandems VA VB Grats to all you hubbers that rode and enjoyed it

Yeah the seeding gets bummered sometimes. I did a 2h40 in the Carousel some time ago, and was like 6th or something, so my seeding was 2.9..... and seeing as it's a 94.7 seeding event, I got whacked into the A group (would be anyways, but this helped).
  4. Yes, but the majority of us don't watch it. Ever.

Lack-of-thankyou-ers deserve a thousand thorns in their tyres! (Trying to rhyme something with "may the fleas of a thousand camels visit your armpits" ) Bwahahaha Post those pics!!

Did you get the rider's number? The CSA rules regarding support vehicles are very strict.... The team or in this case the rider could get in big k*kkas.

Yeah it's boiling! It's 34 here in Pta now. Was 22 at 5am
  13. Voted (again) and (again).
  14. From what I can gather, in the article it says it was on the Jeep track by the railroad. Next to the N1 in Centurion is the jeeptrack/railroad and that's where a lot of the hijackings have taken place. The guys park on the koppie and can see when mtb'ers are on their way. Search on Google maps for -25.864823,28.223491 , the track/railroad is just east of Main road. Well Midrand is not really in Pretoria, but this wasn't too far away.
  15. The majority of Pretoria is safe to ride at (if you disregard the traffic hazards). It's mostly that area of Irene/Centurion that has a very bad reputation.

You got some clouds coming your way too. Was hot and windy in Pretoria this morning, really felt that on the mtb. Wish I could go race today though.
  17. I used to race with my chip on my ankle. One year my foot was on the top of the crank revolution and they didn't pick up the chip, if that helps. That's why they recommend you use the chip holder thingy.
  18. A nice addition for later, since you don't want to carry an entire tonne in your jersey pocket.... Saddle bags are nice if you don't care about their looks. I taped my spare tube to the underside of my saddle on my road bike (and to my seatpost on my mtb). You get bomb holders for your CO2 bombs. They screw into it and you bolt it to the back of your bottlecage. They cost around R50 for a double one.
  19. Thread number 11 about this awesome video
  20. I'm told the syndicate that prowled and preyed at Irene the past 2-3 years has been caught.... hopefully yes, this was a one-time incident and not an "area of opportunity". That said, the first thing one of the guys at my LBS told me when I started riding again, was to stay away from that area (where the bikejacking took place) precisely due to this reason. Hope the guy's ok and here's to hoping the attacker gets his balls handed to him on a platter. http://www.beeld.com...5-keer-20121116
  21. The 725 is just that- ancient. I've always just had great service from them.
  22. Take a gel for every 30-45minutes.... it depends on how often you're used to taking them. Power bars.... 1-2, what time are you aiming for? I don't race with bars myself, they take a while to digest, but that's just me. One tube should be enough. Two punctures are twice as unlikely as one puncture Crews? If you want to have a crew, go do F1 Elbow grease brother
  23. No, but it does hurt, and eventually kill off, the local business model.
  24. I think what it comes down to: Distributor imports product and gives local warranty. Retailer buys from them, sells to you. CRC advertises in magazine. You buy from CRC. CRC is cheaper than Retailer (duh). Retailer loses lots of business and dies out. Retailer dies out, distributor makes less money, stops importing. Local importing dies.
