  1. I have appeared in photo shoots before But I can't make it unfortunately. See my recovery thread for details.
  2. Yeah, apparently the fall looked so lame that the oke wouldn't believe me when I kept shouting that my arm was broken. Outs was more like "get out of the way so I can go"
  3. Ja, the magic of adrenalin plus endorphins can't be beat so first 5 minutes were okay. Took about 8 minutes to walk to the car. The amount of willpower and sweat was surprising. Trying to fit inside the small Bakkie with hydration pack and helmet was quite funny. Even driving off the pavement was intense (I told him to park where the pavement was lower ). Then every bump was just bad 9/10 hits. Not pass out pain though. It's been a good supply of morphine in recovery but can't remember the good stuff they gave before. It wasn't enough to stop the moving the arm around for Xrays being some of the most instantaneous pain I've ever had. (The most being an injection under a badly ingrown toe nail)
  4. I just made that up as those rocks are usually covered with clothing.
  5. Yep. Looks like the Spruit laundromat right there. The actual trail is not as hectic as the terrain in that picture makes it look.
  6. If you go to Complete Cyclist, chat to Christof. He's a good oke.
  7. Where the trail goes sharply down and then sharply up the other side. Usually a round crevice or a big hole in the ground.
  8. In my case I rolled the bombhole a few times with Nofearnofun (as Haley also advises). I wasn't even jumping more than 500mm. I wasn't even trying to go faster when the rear wheel squirmed on the launch. It just loaded up strangely and sent me sideways enough to miss the landing. Not anybody's fault other than my own misjudgment. I don't think I will ride with that Wolverine tyre on the back anymore. It has squirmed on me a few times in berms and other bombholes.
  9. Where are the evidence?
  10. I know. I was supposed to be adding final touches with the guys to some of the features at the new Hakahana line this weekend.
  11. Nope. Mr Nofearnofun was trying to get me to the car ASAP. If there had been others I'm sure there would be Pics. I can tell you that when I pushed the loose bit kinda into place the skin, my top and the backpack strap were caught in the fold. The strap freaked me out so we pulled it free.
  12. Thanks dude!
  13. No.
  14. Must be Old Parks bombhole.
  15. Thought this was another thread about me for a second.
  16. Thanks man. I wonder if anyone found it yet?
  17. It's a medium size step up. I wasn't even jumping it as the ribs were sore. Just rolling it and squashed the launch. Bike went sideways on launch.
  18. Thanks G. Not totally sedated anymore. Just some Stopain for the headache. Sure that's just from the tiny bit of Spruit in me
  19. Don't worry it makes me ill too.
  20. Double brake
  21. Thanks L. I'm better with the swipe keyboard than I used to be. Hehe
  22. Hey guys. Thanks for the good vibes. It was the bombhole below Old Parks. Done that jump more than 20 times - the big one on the left. Was the first time that the rear tyre squirmed as the bike loaded up into the face of the jump. That just sent going over to the left and missing the landing. In such situations I would usually coil up into a foetal position and take out on the shoulder but I think my bruised ribs affected the instinctive reaction by sticking out the arm. Not so good when the wrist is already reinforced. I looked down and wondered why my arm looked so small. Then I saw the arm hanging and the bones covered in dirt. Thank the Lord there was no bleeding. I wish I could tell you that out was spectacular but Nofearnofun said it looked tame... I think he was more traumatised than I was. We had parked at the Bundaberg gate so it was a bit of a walk with the arm becoming more painful with every step l have to thanks Les for getting me up and moving as quickly as possible so that the adrenalin could help at least part of the way. And he got me to the Mediclinic as quickly and smoothly as he could in Friday rush hour. I was operated on at 9pm that night where they put a "nail" type of pin through from the elbow and attached it to the existing wrist plate. They spent a lot of time flushing and trying to clean the wound out as the bone end was covered in some quantity of Spruit "mud". The wound was left open and tomorrow they will being going in again to clean, attach another plate and do a skin graft. Then in 6 weeks time they will go in again to do a bone graft. By the way, reward for anyone finding 4-5cm of missing bone.
  23. Not sure what you mean by "Ad hoc"? (I know what the phrase means)
  24. We are there as we are hosting. Entered last week. Plus Boven trails are such a jol that few people are aware of. I don't know how Glenn manages to create brilliant trails with no hectic climbs but awesome descents - and only a handful of riders use every month.
  25. Oh yes, the FlopSport helmet. I started cycling just after those appeared.
