  1. Carbon, hectic, what do you know, I don't know everything:-P What does Google say about the weight of the fork??
  2. we do get a snack after the race. And we all know what Mtb'er like to snack on and how big a cyclist Snack is, I wonder what it can be???? Maybe a Whole BBQ Chicken start off with and a 2L Coke with some slap chips!?!? Why not just give me R49.99 so I can have that Dross Special: Steak and Chicken Burger with chips and Onion rings?? Or give me R20 so I can get myself a 6foo Steak Gatsby with Piri Peri Suace? If they really cheap give R10 and I'll get myself a Chicken Burger from Burgerfair. add R5 for some chips.
  3. nee jong, ek grap maar net met julle klomp:-P
  4. I had the 2007 one with V-Brake Mounts, might possibly be lighter without those. 1.4g is light enough for a HT frame, I think the bike will start getting flexi if you go sub 1.2kg on the frame. I have read a review on a 1.4kg frame vs the sub kilo Scott frame and the guy said the flex was notable on the Scott and that a heavier frame handeld the downhill sections better and a few other things. I'd just stick with the frame, when you see a good deal on a fork get it and sell the old one, those old Sid's are really cheap and light!
  5. Luister pansies, wil nie snaaks wees nie maar 28km/h is my stadig, is daar n 3de groep miskien wat so 32-34km/h wil doen???
  6. I also just use the sharp section of my pliers, no pro, just use a sharp knife to open the closed off section again.
  7. ....will not be a long delay between <?: PREFIX = O /> consumption and performance. You will begin to feel the effects of its energy boost instantly. Later at night 5hours pass your bedtime you might start wondering when the effect will start to wear off. Don't worry, caffeine will stay in your system a few more hours showing you just how f'ing well it works"
  8. Caffeine is all Hype imo.
  9. Eggbeater cons: Only one so far and don't really matter. the clipinpart on the pedal start eating you shoe sole after a while, but like I said, nothing hectic. Eggbeaters all the way! Can also buy the Eggbeater C's for I think R550 odd and then buy the upgrade kit = Ti Spindels for R1200 odd = end result is a 218g pedal for R1800 odd bucks.
  10. That Frame in a Medium I suppose you have??? is 1.408kg and 1.460kg in a Large. Dunno what the weight in a size small is, but I'd guess around 1.340kg - It's really light already, not Scott light but pretty light. I just bought a 2nd Hand Specialized Carbon HT and it came to 1.38kg excluding seatbinder and headset in a size m.
  11. I got a really good deal on a 2nf Hand XTR Crank at R1500 and had ti on the scale, comes to: 785 incl BB. So it's just 70odd grams lighter than XT. Your best bet is a new frame at 1250-1350g and a new fork, my old FoX 100mm was sitting at 1650grams, my new one is 1408g with 100mm travel. But ja, those to are big ticket items... have you tried shortening your seatpost? I would not recoment the KCNC Pully wheels, those things don't last. I saw some really nice / light weight mtb skewers on CRC at 23g per set!!!! going for R500 odd bucks!!
  12. I just bought a 2008 Manitou MRD 100mm with V-Brake and Disc bosses. Had it on the digital scale at work, comes to: 1408grams. It's still lighter than the new 100mm Sid's and 80mm are for pansies. Have not ridden it yet, getting my Mtb this weekend.Marius2009-02-20 01:14:03
  13. Add some REAL tyres at 1.2kg, a real Saddle at 200g and a decent Crankset - 780g - then that Scott will be sitting at lets see : 580g+ 95g + 340g = New bike weight Total: 8.910kg, still freaken light.
  14. Weight weenie, who the *** is going to race the Epic with a full carbon saddle and that *** Maxiss Fly weight tyres and only two f'ing blades upfront?!?!?! tell me that, pleezz, we can all dig up stupid light bikes thats not race ready.
  15. ANything under 9.5kg is light for a DS, mine is like 10.8kg, and that took some effert getting it that light..
  16. I did not see any one taking pics:-( well, not of me atleast:-P
  17. thx Ronelle! Marius2009-02-16 04:30:43
  18. It looks old school, just needs a new coat of paint with some happening lines and colours.
  19. I don't get it, what's the Pro's and Cons? Is there a Weight saving and is it worth the R18k as seen at Willie.E for a set?
  20. BMC, die tanni =e het alweer virgeet om ons af te neem, net so tussen ons..
  21. Nice pics Ronelle, as always! = why did we have a crash at one point, what was the cause? I just managed to miss it, thx to my new brake pads, koolstop rulze! Ooh, and the NP was 290 and not 320Marius2009-02-12 01:17:16
  22. CWC also brings in the Marcello Brand from Raiko, made in Italy and very very comfy!! I got last years bibbs at a steal but the new stuff is around R600, the best I have ever had, and I've had two pair of the R3400 Assos jobbies to compare with.
  23. I'm getting two sets of the Gore Bibbs for R700 each, have not tried them yet but hear good things:-D
  24. Sweet Pic's Ronelle, thx so much!! Did you see I was in my Big blade!!
