  1. You mean Eddy Merckx?
  2. watches: festina Titanium dress watch Garmin forerunner for sport Swatch for sailing.
  3. It is obvious that you are not talking of the LA that used to cycle a trek
  4. Just like a magnet can interfere with a magnet compass, greed and ego can interfere with a moral compass. I suggest reading the Lucifer effect. It can explain how and why all the doping happened. Zimbargo suggests three levels of "corruption of the soul" Firstly the individual where moral choice lies. But he was auick to point out that every individual is a Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde. Just the right drug, context ext can divert the moral compass. Secondly, those who sustain an evil context. This group is the immediate supervisors that "give permission" and create the permissive environment . ie the rotten barrel Lastly, those to create the system or situation, the governance level "the rotten barrel makers". Now LA was both the evil twat that did drugs and one of the ringleaders that perpetuated the permissive environment which encouraged and gave "permission" to others. WADA, UCI ext were the barrel makers. Now they are trying to fix their mistakes, their enforcer is complaining. But in the end he is guilty as a user and a pusher.
  5. OOM H, is like that scary guy with a facial hair that hangs out behind the bicycle shed at the primary school. The other childern on the payground are all sweet and friemdly UNTIL he starts moving......... Still every playground needs one of them, just to ensure that any cliche gets smashed up before it gets too inbred. The hub is too self concious and sensitive without him. Maybe because the mods now have too much time on their hands.......
  6. Who is this LAnce guy you all are refering too?
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jx0dTYUO5E&feature=player_embedded most boring sex movie ever........

  10. You should check if the guy works for the CIA or something........
  11. Chop the tallest trees down first. 80% of the crimes are committed by 20% of the criminals, which means 50% of the crimes are committed by 1% of the criminals. By taking out the big six half the rot has been removed. Now lets aim for the next biggest six dopers, and leave the poor fun riders alone.
  12. Eddy Merckx Corsa 01?
  13. Normally those who need the watching. The more valuable the brand, the more vested interests the brand owner has in policing the industry, and therefore the more they should invest in a industry watchdog. Hang fu bikes would not be interested in such an action, where Pinarello on the other hand would.

  16. I see the witches complained, it seems they are unhappy about being associated with the DA
  17. There are two great challenges to South Africa, and unfortunately they are class related. Firstly, Youth development. The number of children that are being formed as good citizens in this country is minimal. Parents seem to think that kids are safe next to the N1, locked in shacks or dropped off at shopping malls (all depending on how much money you have. Very few kids are accommodated in recreational sport activities (as schools only groom the best in their sport teams) Also youth movements such as the voortrekkers and scouts are not being supported by government, thus reducing their reach and effectiveness. In the past these organisations could depend on the support of sponsors, donations and grants, but alas now they are cash strapped and limited by various "laws" leaving kids no safe place to develop important social skills Secondly, sport development. Sport is costly in both time and money, so if you don't have access to this then oops sport is not an option. Also if you chose to spend your money on cars, booze ext then sport goes out of the window. This as resulted in sport being an elitist pursuit and obesity a national problem. The average start up for almost any sport (chess and running excluded) can be anywhere from R10k to R200k depending the sport. where the lower middle class gets the money is a mystery, and for this reason sport will not be demographically reflective. For sport to work in South Africa the government must back more accessible sport, which must be backed aggressively. Running, chess, and umh umh umh running are excellent examples for such support.
  18. And there are women that would prefer a massive one over a real diamond, so long as their friends don't look too closely...... That is why it is called costume jewelry after all.
  19. I actually hold that title...... .
  20. Unfortunately this lead is a bit limited. It would have been better if they went for the grey/ fake import angle. It now limits itself to a small group of cyclist who are interested in pinnarello's. so poor John Doe on a fake Raleigh or scott or cannondale is still clueless of the dangers.
  21. Bla bla bla bla. Unless you have more money than sense (and cannot read) OR you are a pro/elite that needs to squeeze the last out of yourself, you don't need a coach. Most elite/ pros get there by spending a lot of time on the bike. (LA's famous statement "I am on my bike 8 hrs a day") Once they have broken into the inner circle, then the coach is hired to "polish off" the performance. As a recreation cyclist/ competitive cyclist (3hr argus) all a coach will do is invoke guilt in you when you have not done the planned training, this and "fine" you for ill discipline. What you probably need is the following: a more committed training partners who shame you when you don't pitch for a ride. a more disciplined attitude to food. time with harder and faster riders for the hard days time with slower types for you LSD days. In all read a few books on cycling performance, design your own programme, schedule your rides with friends in accordance with YOUR training needs (You have to be a bit selfish about this), and have fun with your friends, but not all at the same time. Consider this for recovery you ride with your girl friend/ wife/kids or boyfriend for speed work you go to the "race track" for Wednesday laps and ride hard for distance you ride with your endure friends remember to enter some races to race, and you enter some races to train and these you should not race. never ever under estimate the importance of peer pressure and community. ext ext ext. also keep a diary to determine the link between training and performance. results vary, and it is good to know what works. good luck on flying solo.
  22. This "guy" may be out of the country and can only access Carte blanche online. or there may be many reasons that he will not be able to access is dstv, or he may have chosen not to have dstv in his home. Not having something is a choice. Just because you have disposable income does not mean you have to buy things other people have or want. From reading this tread I can conclude that he deserves RESPEK, AliG style. A good guy to the core.
  23. For XC, anything that is not full carbon, hard tail, 26" with 1 x10 gearing is too heavy. XC is about light fast and lungs for breakfast. So there is no correct definition for the right weight, it is always to heavy. That macho advert out of the way. The bike you have and the bike you can afford is always the correct bike. As Merckx said ride up grades, don't upgrade rides. Your bike is only too heavy when you start consistently beating people on lighter bikes. or famously when the top cyclists start organising you sponsorships so that you stop embarrassing them on the trail.......
  24. No, but this sounds interesting.........
  25. After reading this I do genuinely feel for you. You were duped by a bunch of ***********************. Thank you for warning us. I hope that ASG as the official agents do something about it. I think they (cycle science) have this attitude for two reasons, one they have your money and two it will take you even more money to get it back. So they are in the clear. Unfortunately social media may help you vent your frustration, but it rarely solves the problem. Anyway good luck with which ever way you chose to play this, and enjoy the real bike you got in Aus.
