    SA Duathlon 2014

Eldron, it seems that David Lappies is now in our age group, and is in for the race. Now you will have someone to run with..............
  4. Still have a pic of it as my facebook avatar.
  5. That is why we all hate pedestrians, as they are people with nothing, not even running shoes. Cannot even call them runners. WORST OFF IS THEY GET CAUGHT UNDER KNOBBLY TYRES SO EASILY. I spend hours trying to fish bits of them out of my drive chain. They should be forced back into the trees and bushes....

  7. A ten years of the hub celebration is in order? Anyone interested in a HUBRIDE in PTA?
  8. and the midrand hub rides?
  9. anyone remember the tour de klapperkop?
  10. Normally Garmin allows trade ins on new units.
  11. A ban may not stop anyone, there are too many examples of that. But t does make their lives inconvienent. However, as OSCAR is experiencing now, public exposure has a nasty way of haunting you for life. they will always be known as cycling hooligans. MC2 will always be known as the club of township ganstas, just like other clubs/teams will always be tained (rightly or wrongly) with doping. All because one or two members did the deed and club/team was slow in condemning it.
  12. Okay, lets reconstruct the event for the court: THere I was, inncoently cycling through the narrow streets of seapoint and camps bay, I cannot remember which one because my peleton was moving so fast. The ride was turning into one humdinger for the sprint, We were like laying out the lead out, and the rest of the peleton, oops training group, where sucking for air. They were shattered, spread out over the entire lane, even some trying to gutter on the white line. I turned to my buddy to indicate that it was his turn to pull. I sensed water on my face and looked up and HMOG, there in front of me materialised a white vehicle, teleported there like some star trek UFO. Don't they know the left lane is for cyclists? To make matters worse is that the vehicle was not even moving (something I only realised when I started to jump, so that I could get a free draft). Really, its truths. So I did what any self respecting cyclist would do.. I decided to discuss the matter with the driver.......
  13. The laaitie in the Bellville kit seems to be jumping around like a little lapdog, inciting and barking "jou maaas se" the whole time. The big guns, punching and wheelie-ing and pissing pepper spray are definitely in MC2 kit. Also he was only one, where it was obvious that MC2 were the dominant club, and possibilly in command of the riding group. With command comes accountability.....
  14. He had a spinergy wheel, close enough?
  15. The item is moving fast into the relms of sub judice. Maybe it is now the time for those involved/ witnessing the incident to start preparing for the court case, and not make any statements not cleared by a competent lawyer. It is just very sad that MCC has not made sufficient media statements about the behaviour of the two/three members involved. This only has increased the speculation to a fever pitch. Maybe Supercycling should submit an urgent appeal to televise the trial?
  16. Jip there I am at number nine. After the crash I had to reset as paddaman, konfan and now witkop. Each time I either lost my profile or forgot my login thereby effectively locking me out. I wonder if admin could consolidate these accounts into one?
  17. road = road bike off road = 29er singletrack = 26er fun =single speed. Seriously decide what you want to do. Consider a second hand bike on your budget. Make friends with hubbers, and see what happens.
  18. Not a flurry of coach photos, but rather the institution that bikes had to be photographed in front/ on the couch. It was a breach of protocol to do otherwise. I fine tradition now ignored by the noobies.
  19. Apart from me and maybe spinnekop and marius, can anyone remember when the hub all started? When lonestar had supercycling kill its discussion forum and had all of us move over to the hub? What other historical things happened? Rise of TCS and how it had to deal with the problems of being a team in the modern cycling community (fandicious?! and Colonel may remember this one)? The great reset when most of us lost our accounts and had to start from ground zero? The rise of Tumbleweed and TNT1( builder bob) The rise, roast, renaming and disappearance of BigH The great atheist thread? have I missed something?
  20. red is the best colour. Red bikes are better.....
  21. I get off and push. No shame in that......
  22. Next we will have posts about 26er rigid single speed climbing like a mountain goat. man these drugs work well............ ps a 29er is still not a real mountain bike, and real mountainbikers should have sufficient skill not to have to compromise for anything other than a 26er. After all there was a druggy who liked yellow who wrote a book about it, he titled it "its not about the bike"....
  23. This sunday, 6am for 6:30 at top car park in Groenkloof. Any takers or am I going sailing?
  24. My experience with OMINICO is that they replace their bikes quickly. I ran through a shed of mongoose canaan's with them. Each time I was upgraded to the more modern frame. Would have still been on a mongoose if it were not stolen. However, after listening to how often OMNICO brands are being replaced maybe their services is better than their products.
  25. I think the elephant in the room is SASCOC, the regulator of "sport" in South Africa. It seems that where ever their name is mentioned disaster is not far behind.....
