  1. I have my doubts about the headset preloading system. Too many bad reviews so I might just install the tools inside the pump and send the preload kit back. What bugs me most are the clip in spacers that won’t match the rest of my spacers. They look like cheap plastic.
  2. Such a cool company making great products. So far I have the 110cc pump and it’s a beast. Bought the EDC system, bars, and stem and waiting for delivery. Who here uses their products?
  3. That’s a very very corrosive cleaner that I assume needs to be diluted. I’ve used Dirt Nurse for years with zero issues when diluted correctly and even concentrated where the bike was really dirty. I cringe when people use just any cleaners on their bikes.
  4. Any chance the frame bent a little? Wild guess.
  5. Crawling towards 5 years now on my 7 Plus. Still going strong despite the cracked screen.
  6. You got quoted for labour only when you phoned. This is why I spent about R12000 over the years on tools and saved all the labour costs for two to four bikes. I makes sense to DIY a service and only get the most difficult things done by a shop.
  7. I am super impressed with the One Up dropper post and pump I recently bought and since it was time to upgrade to 800mm bars I thought I’d stick to the brand. 800mm 35 bars and 50mm stem plus the complete EDC tool system added This also completes the 99.9% blackout off all my components. Just the chain to upgrade to black.
  8. Had XTR brakes before with the same problem. Could not get them to stop going soft on me. Front brake was the issue. Also didn’t impress me with stopping power. Went with Hope Race X2 and never looked back. Now on Tech 3 V4 and I’m still super impressed. Time for a bleed I think after about 7 years. They still feel the same as the day I got them. Might leave it for my 6 month tear down service.
  9. From my days with fish I found that the bigger tanks are the easiest to maintain. A small bacteria in a small tank quickly gets out of hand. Not so much in a big tank. Loved my 250l tank. You can get some really nice fresh water fish
  10. Still running Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.35 front and rear. Both snakeskin casings and Addix soft compound. Good grip in the dry, excellent grip in the moist. Not the fastest rolling tyres but everything else makes up for it.
  11. I won’t mention that I ride with Crank Brothers Stamp 2s.
  12. I rate the OneUp pedals quite high. If Trailtech is out of stock you can always phone Sprocket and Jack. I know they have stock and I’m sure they would be willing to ship them.
  13. Oh dear. The lady is super congested with some greenery flowing from the sinus rinses. She is super prone to hay fever and the current pollen count in Jhb is sky high. I’m dosing up on extra vitamins etc just to be safe. In March we both had what can only be described as the worst flu we’ve ever seen. Nebulizers, massive course of antibiotics etc. this was before corona was being tested and while we suspect that it might have been that we both made a full recovery in about 3 weeks. Needless to say any amount of snotty noses and sneezing has us very alert.
  14. Glad you enjoyed it. We did a quick 25 this morning by doing the normal number two and splitting off onto 1 just after BRB (section with all the jumps, a bridge, and tons of berms). Nice easy ride with a lot of fun elements. There are a couple of sneaky splits for number 1. Will take on the full 42 soon and see if I can get the full distance done.
  15. Should convert GPR to DNG. DNG being a universal raw format supported by pretty much everything. I edit on Capture One. They have a free version but I’m not sure if it supports DNG as its camera specific.
  16. Have you tried this? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/adobe-dng-converter.html
  17. I love tech and gadgets. This is super interesting.
  18. Again. For me personally. I don’t see the benefits.
  19. Yup. What Hairy said. Great way to grind away your stanchions and also affect the workings of the work to a certain extent. Suspension manufacturers spent tons on developing the seals etc.
  20. I will never drop the money for XTR. Even if I have it. The cost vs weight saving is ridiculous Give me XT any day of the week.
  21. Right now it’s new toy syndrome. I love tinkering with things. One thing I’ve seen so far is that I’m not faster on any sections though. Again I just don’t believe in the hype of being more efficient.
  22. Looking forward to hearing how it went.
  23. Managed to sort out the numb toes about 99%. Adjusted the cleats correctly. Interesting how much different my left foot is in terms of angling the clear. At 30km today my left pinkie toe started getting numb and I had pain on the outside of the foot. Made another adjustment tonight and will see tomorrow how it goes.
  24. We ended up doing a mostly the 20km with various sections of the 42km thrown in for fun. Ended up at 30km in total having a ton of fun. The 42km is definitely a big step up from the rest of the trail. Good challenging adventure. Loved it.
  25. Nope. I definitely can’t get anything useful either. Had one interesting one when I used it on my motorbike helmet when commuting and documented a motocross trip in Bali once. That was it.
