  1. Name and shame dude.
  2. I'll call it my "summer in France" bike. Thanks man. Wouldn't have been on it's way to me without your help. Really appreciate it.
  3. That tyre made some funny noises on our last ride. Now I know why. Damn.
  4. What you on about. This is my new Spruit bike. Haha
  5. Hahaha. Never. 'n Bike. Een wat ek nog altyd wou he
  6. Something very, very epic. Will post as soon as it is delivered.
  7. Weighs about 6.5kg and is most likely still plush as the day it came out the box. Very cheap bike indeed but could be trashed. Hubs, pivots, rear shock etc.
  8. The Fury came in alu also. Personally I would go for the Fury. Good amount of R&D went into that frame. Couple of Morewoods floating around also
  9. Ardent or Mountain King front. Crossmark rear. The combo offers great grip, great rolling and will last quite a while.
  10. To keep the cranks level in the air when whipping those no-footers.
  11. Not quite. The chain has no sharp edges and those pipes are made from quite a thick plastic. Also on a jump bike you aren't exactly doing long distances. Couple of solid cranks to get going. My guess. Couple of months.
  12. If you can roll forward on a bike while standing out of the saddle then you have the skillset to begin. It's a proper workout on a trials bike but so rewarding. Really need to dust of my shin pads and start playing again.
  13. I also wouldn't exclude a very opportunistic scumbag dressed in cycling kit. Nobody bats an eyelid if a cyclist unloads a bike, gets on and rides off. Quick ride to the fence and hops over to a car waiting.
  14. We all started somewhere. I agree. This is a fantastic way to up your skills on a bike. It does an insane amount for balance and low speed bike control as well as technical riding.
  15. 2014 - Morzine 2015 - Morzine or Trance Provence guided tour 2016 - Mega 3 year plan sorted.
  16. Awesome. Thanks dude. Have a set of Saint cranks dying to be redone in orange or green.
  17. Ill second this. Dropper post will give you a big advantage in the technical bits. Not having a saddle directly under your bum when descending or negotiating technical bits will help get your weight back and center of gravity nice and low on the bike. This takes the weight of the front wheel which will not only prevent spills over the bars but also helps the wheel to roll over the terrain better. 29er makes very good sense on the local stage races where you encounter long stretches of dirt roads, jeep track or single track. Once you get those big wheels up to speed it just keeps rolling. Personally I don't believe in the marketing speak around added tracking on climbs etc. Tyre choice, leg strength, endurance and technical ability is what makes or breaks a climb. 29ers are also built for short people. This "buy smaller wheels because you are short" advice no longer applies. Bike companies cater for all sizes of riders these days. Emily Batty is quite short and rides one brilliantly Best advice is to do a proper ride on the various bikes you are interested in. The parking lot shock pump ride only works if you know what you want exactly. Bought my Jamis after a 15 second spin in the parking lot. I knew exactly what type of handling characteristic I was after. Don't fall for the ladies specific hype either. Get the bike setup to your body type. Ask as many questions as you can. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Only uninformed and lazy sales staff. Good luck.
  18. Very cool. Need to hit the gap still.
  19. The line was fast and a little loose in places. Great ride today. Took the big bike to allow for some mistakes. Made a couple too. To the point of locking my back up a bit. ???? Amazing how that KTM soaks up the big hits. Really helps when you get it wrong. Wore Hope DH baggies with a Smurf T-Shirt too.
  20. This thread never became about what clothes to wear or what bike to ride to be "worthy". Nobody is that vain. Seriously. Get over it already. I want to use the words "said in jest" again but it will surely just be misconstrued again.
  21. Highly encouraged in fact. It's about time more people get to know us.
  22. Reading and contributing something of value is one thing. Posting purely for the sake of disrupting a thread with unwanted criticism is just poor form.
  23. Not quite the answer I was looking for. Moving on.
  24. What is wrong with arranging rides focussed around this particular section of trail with the sole purpose of enjoying said piece of trail? By arranging these rides we openly invite more riders to join and enjoy this piece of trail. What exactly is so wrong with that? What bikes and what to wear is purely posted in jest. Clearly some people just can't move past the trolling.
