  1. There we go spending more money this month I guess. The carbon Amp looks superb. Hope you can purchase the rims only down the line.
  2. These things are a dark science. When I moved from the Morewood to the Evil I noticed no difference in my back even with the 10 year change in geometry. What I did notice was how much core work made a difference to pain. Huge.
  3. I won’t argue with the bike fit science. I just find it odd that you need a 90mm stem and setback seatpost to fit on a trail bike. That combo will stretch you out on the bike a fair bit. What made you explore the different setup options?
  4. Also sounds like you’re riding a bike that is too small for you. All the plasters on that bullet wound won’t help in the long run.
  5. I know KS used to make a setback clamp dropper post back in the day. I don't think anyone does these days. The strain placed on the stanchion with a setback clamp will cause too much strain to have it operate effectively, especially at something as far as 50mm.
  6. Perfect for the rainy season.
  7. Same with mine. Stage 2 with Akrapovic pipes and a race tuner etc. It hauled more than enough ass for my liking. Over 160km/h is pointless anyway.
  8. I’m not that into road bikes but I can appreciate a piece of art when I see it. Super clean lines. Some good innovation there on the cockpit.
  9. I can imagine it felt the same as that one morning I dropped my motorbike in the Main Street in Sabie. Right in front of the Midas.
  10. When I switched from 520s to 540 Trail pedals I found the bigger platform to make it easier to clip in quickly while riding. With the V-Twin the even bigger platform added more support but I didn't notice any benefit to distributing the weight across the pedal. It was still mostly on the cleat area.
  11. Is the hold-up with customs? If that is the case your shipment might have stopped randomly for value verification. That is a massive ball-ache.
  12. Try emailing Dalene dalenes@skynet.co.za She assisted me. R10k order shipped and delivered to my door in about 8 working days.
  13. And one very overlooked fix. If you are overweight your back will suffer. Lose the blob and you will have fewer problems. I had so sciatic pain staring up in my right leg earlier this year. 10kg into my 25kg loss goal and it’s non existent now. Also try sleep with a pillow between your knees. Also helps.
  14. Sounds like a fun urban short course.
  15. If you are in JHB pop in at Sprocket & Jack. They Afton on sale at a great price of R1350. Based on the clipless pair I have the flats should be really good too.
  16. Chiro is the worst thing you can do if you have a badly herniated disc and could potentially lead to a sequestrated disc. It will compound the problem.
  17. After my last set of upgrades I'm definitely upping my insurance. If I lose this bike I will cry a lot and then replace it with exactly the same spec. Maybe just the V3 frame instead of the V2.
  18. Reply and ask him for his name and surname and direct contact number at the office. Also get the exact office address as most banks have multiple locations. Then phone the actual bank and ask to speak to him. 100% chance the is no-one by that name there. Also speak to the fraud department yourself and confirm this "breach"
  19. Alarm bells ring when they talk way too much and ask no questions. A legit buyer will ask questions, especially "are you negotiable" Any offer of a friend or courier coming to collect should also raise alarm bells. "I'm in Upington and my friend will collect" Asking you to meet in any location other than what you are comfortable with. If it's a cash transaction meet at the bank and deposit the cash before handing over the goods. You don't want to be followed and robbed.
  20. I went with the Sunrace 11-51 HG cassette and SLX derailleur and shifter. Pretty happy so far.
  21. ... as long as it isn’t clipless
  22. Final decision was made today. I’m back on flats for good. The overall comfort and planted feel far outweighs the benefits that clipped in brings. Put the DMR V-Twins up for sale. Might just do the same with the shoes. Not sure because I feel that secondhand shoes are just gross.
  23. Loud hubs save lives. A quiet bike is a fast bike. Difficult to choose but I do like my swarm of angry Africanized bees that follow me around wherever I go.
  24. Risk management is key. I don’t do big jumps anymore. I ride within my limits and only take very calculated risks on the trail. So far so good. I’m also left with numbness from my ankle halfway up my leg. You learn to live with it. I also can’t really drive a manual car anymore. Too much clutch work and my leg starts shaking uncontrollably.
