  1. I know it's not very 'cool', but if visibility is your main concern then why not wear a safety jacket over your rain jacket?... the type that they wear on construction sites. Very bright and have reflective strips. Just a thought.
  2. I have heard that even from CT the turnaround time is less than a week. I've also heard that there is quite a fine looking young lady wot works at the midrand place as well. there's a very fine looking gentleman wot works there too. I break my Polar intentionally on a regular basis so that I can go to Polar's Midrand office
  3. I paid about R450 (2 years ago) for my First Ascent rain jacket. I like the fact that you can unzip the sleeves if you start overheating; it also has some panels that can be unzipped to allow it to 'breathe'
  4. Geez dude.. that sucks
  5. ill take it one step further.... www.google.com .it educates me on quite a number of things and then you dont have to wait 6-7 pages for an answer from our local knowlagebase Very good point Mellow... Anyone seen Google's in Morse code today?

  8. aahhh thanks swissvan.... guess I form part of the 'not so cool' brigade cos I have cane creek bar ends on my riser bars. I haven't seen anyone pointing and sniggering yet, but then again I form part of the 'I don't give a **** what other people think' brigade so it doesn't really matter then

  13. I'm with bob here.... wtf what's a riser bar? I have bar ends.... I hope from what everyone's saying here that they're not on the end of a riser bar
  14. hmmm..... can't put a price on the experience and excellent organization, but it is a huge chunk of cash to spend... start saving now!
  15. Hope I still have my entry for next year after my crash on day 2' date=' I need to get back next year.[/quote'] I hope so too... otherwise who'll keep me company at the top of that nasty day 2 climb?
  16. No problem guys... good luck getting an entry, it's an amazing experience
  17. I've just been on the website now and I see that they've already started a waiting list for 2010. I would suggest you put your name down now colin. 'Preferential' entries for this years finishers open in August after which they will be contacting 'waiting list' people first... this is my understanding of how it's gonna work anyway
  18. Wolvie gets my vote...... cos he's my facebook friend
  19. Hmmm..... it has to do with bacon and red wine.... and like a good stew, tastes much better the next day. I'll think about it
  20. hmm well i was hoping we could say you were a cullinary engineer. Lasagna engineer wont pass JB's scrutiny. I have an A+ diploma which means I can pretend to know some technical stuff about PC's? I'm pretty good with Excel? I work with a lot of engineers (I think I'm cleverer than some of them)...... dunno, you're gonna have to help me out here with a title that will pass the scrutiny of Mr Bornman
  21. What is your secret? I make my own pasta and want to try that soon. dude.. if I told you, it wouldn't be my secret
  22. Can't say I have.... I make a mean lasagna though
  23. Boris - you didn't have to tell Dirt Breff what I call him on a public forum (am I the only one that triple-checks the word public whenever I type it to make sure I haven't omitted the 'l'? ) JB - I really struggle to follow your posts, waay too much to read (but then again I have the attention span of a 4 year old), maybe you should consider a short summary at the bottom of your comprehensive post (just for hubbers like me) Durt Breff - when are you and I gonna take that Thomson seatpost and fat @ss (hey, you said it) for a spin around the spruit again?
