Yes they are very pricey. The cheapest place iv found them is Sportsman's Warehouse. I'm also interested to see if you can buy them in bulk.

I got the keo carbons after a some saving. Yes they are expensive but if you can afford them I would highly recommend them. You can get them for 1G from CWC and they are well worth it. Apparently they will last for ages and they are so smooth! as well as very light.

Gatorskins should be fine I used them, just make sure not to make sure not to tighten the freewheel to much. But I would use a strong rear wheel like a 36 spoke. Apparently they have been known to buckle rear wheels.

Hey! I have a blackburn with wireless speed. I don't know why but sometimes the speed just cuts out. I tried mounting the computer on sponge and it helped for a while but no longer. Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe I should put a double layer of sponge under it?
