  1. Normally start filtering in at the begining of September.
  2. Agreed! You can't drop a bombshell like that and not post a photo!
  3. Those are very pretty shoes! Mavic is putting out some nice stuff at the moment. Don't see much of it in KZN though.
  4. Just concluded some successful business with him. Seems like a very sound guy.
  5. Received this guy today. Would have preffered the 2013 one but no BB30 available. .
  6. Just googled that. That is seriously nice.
  7. I've not seen a thread like this one this website so I thought I would start one... essentially it is too boast about your latest cycling related purchases. This is mine. Collected today. 112g.
  8. How pretty are these to go with the new groupo... http://triathlete-europe.competitor.com/2012/06/01/unveiled-shimano-release-top-end-aero-wheels/ dissapointingly heavy though when compared to Zipp.
  9. LA didn't look like that when you was riding in the tour.
  10. As I understand it doing targeted weight training exercises to improve your power does not do much for cycling (I am not talking about track) as most people's limiter is endurance rather than power. The actual amount of force required to turn a pedal is really very low, it is our ability to do it over and over again that is the challenge (endurance). Therefore as an endurance cyclist you are better off doing things that will improve your endurance rather than your strength. As far as working your core goes this aids in making you a more efficient cyclist as you can hold your upper body more stable etc. etc. and when you get to the higher end of the sport all these little efficiencies can really make a big difference. I am not sure you will find a single endurance cyclist in the gym doing strength work but you will probably find them doing core work during the off season.
  11. Yup. Each bike even comes with a free Indonesian house boy.
  12. I've bought 3 bikes from them. Seriously good deals to be had.
  13. Surely at 6.6 kg that is not ready to race..
  14. I used swimsmooth a bit but I found that without anyone around to critique my stroke I was never really sure I was doing it right. It definately made me improve though and is worth a look. The very best thing I did for my swimming was join a masters swim squad. Suddenly I was forced to swim really really hard and my swimming came on in leaps and bounds. I was probably a bit guilty of just costing through my swimming training before this.
  15. Go with what feels best for you. For myself it makes very little difference to my times if I breath every second, third or fourth stroke. If you watch the pros they you will see loads of different things going on, some every second, some third and some forth. There are arguments for breathing every third stroke when you are training as it is meant to "even out" your stroke but like I said it has made no difference to me. It is however good to learn to breath on both sides in case you want to watch someone on your one side for example or if you have waves crashing into you in a sea swim from the left then you can just breath to the right. stuff like that.
  16. That is outrageous! My specailized roubaix carbon road bike which I use for training weighs 9.5kg!
  17. I've only been riding road seriously for about 9 months, before that was tri. However, I purchased a CSA license which seems to have got me seeded in VA for the races I have entered thus far. That being said I haven't entered either the 94.7 or the Argus so not sure how I would be seeded in the very popular races.
  18. With this you you should keep up with A bunch without too much problem. I very seldom average over 31/32 on training rides and I can.
  19. in that case I have a resistance bike jack thing. It's good and I like it for the reason that DangerDave says.... you can't fall off. It is however mind numbingly boring so make sure you can set it up in front of your tv or get some training videos or your laptop or something. I use these: www.thesufferfest.com in conjuction with my trainer. I've got a Tacx one, I think the model is called a Flow. It is the cheapest one Tacx do with a power meter which is a great tool for training. Worth spending the extra money if you can.
  20. Thanks for the advice. I had assumed that being american they would be more on the generous side then anything else. The annoying thing is I had a pair but can't remember what size they were and the nearest Specialized dealer is over and hour away which makes going to try some one somewhat of a pain.
  21. Hello, Wanted to order some Specialized bib shorts for some family to bring back from the UK with them and was wondering how the come up size wise? Are they small or generous fit? Cheers
  22. I'm not sure what a resistance bike jack thing is so cannot answer. Sounds like someone trying to rob you.
  23. A bit OT but how does a Kindle compare to an IPAD for reading books? Want to get my missus one for mothersday but am thinking I might just splurge for an IPAD.
  24. the difference between head tube length on the Tarmac and the Roubaix is only 1.5 - 2cm depending on which size frame you are going to get. If the Tarmac is the bike you want then surely such a small amount can be overcome by using an angled stem and spacers? I have both a Tarmac and a Roubaix and I've got them setup so my drop from seat to bars is identical. In any event the Roubaix is a fantastic bike, very comfy and yet responsive at the same time. I've never seen or heard of anyone have issues with the zerts.
