  1. P.s. - my guess is a wheel set will be very expensive to ship!
  2. Yes - positive
  3. I am curious too? Looks like a dude on his way to work riding a fairly ordinary old road bike. It not like it is a hobo on a Dogma.
  4. I was following with interest as a couple of mates were riding. Recognized the names of a few hub folk amongst the results as well. Well done to you all.
  5. Yes! I only discovered this shop last week. Awesome stock and awesome dudes running it. I wish them the success they deserve.
  6. There was a shot from the air of the guys cycling out into the desert on a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG flat rode with nothing but flat desert on either side as far as the eye could see. The thougth of 100km out into a desert and then 100km back again just doesn't appeal to me. I prefer interesting bike courses, hills, bends, supporters and the like. That being said, the Arabs do things properly so I would imagine it will be a very well organized race. I spent a lot of time on business in AD a couple of years ago. If you can stay at this hotel: http://www.rotana.com/rotanahotelandresorts/unitedarabemirates/abudhabi/beachrotana it is much nicer than the Hilton, I have stayed at both. It is a proper "resort" hotel.
  7. I saw it on supersport a while back. It looks hot, flat and boring, especially the bike.
  8. I have just bought a groupset from them after following a banner advert on this site. Ordered it on Friday and it was delivered to my office yesterday afternoon which I was pretty impressed by. Had to pay VAT and a R100 clearing fee and that was it. Bike parts don't get any import duty.
  9. Sorry, I should have been clear. I was referring to product availability rather than service. I have had good service from Specialized in SA both at the local concept store and from Specialized themselves warrantying and item for me.
  10. I wonder what Specialized are up to....? We were promised this big turn around when they got rid of their distributor and moved to a direct model but it doesn't seem to have materialized.
  11. Showeee dude. That is bloody nice!
  12. I see it listed for the end of November on the CSA website calendar so hopefully it happens. Says the details are still TBC though so who knows. It would be a real shame if it doesn't though, we need more races, not less.
  13. Does anyone know if this is happening this year? Was just planning my racing calendar.
  14. Q20 over night and some good leverage.
  15. Cool! It would be great to see.
  16. Wouldn't they also need to attain UCI Pro Team Status which isn't that easy to do? They could buy it by employing a bunch of riders with UCI points but then it would be very South African anymore. I was reading an article the other day which said the smaller team like the Confidis's for the world have an annual badget of $50 million.
  17. I don't think what you're saying is unrealistic if they are quality rides.
  18. It gives me the excuse I need to wear lycra.
  19. Will there be anything of you left? I'm 194cm and 85.5kg, have been around there for a few years. Currently targetting 82kg for no other reason besides the fact that Christian Knees is 194/82kg and is good enough to ride in the tour . The first time in my life I am actively dieting!
  20. If that average rider has money and is in the market for a new bike then absolutely. Who knows he might become slightly above average.
  21. I once read 1:4 in a cycling mag. I can't remember the logic behind it though.
  22. Anyone who tells you a light bike doesn't make a difference doesn't have one. I've got a few bikes and the difference between a 11.5kg hard tail and a 9.5kg hard tail is massive. I guess the good quality components that the lighter bike will inevitably have also work towards making the difference.
  23. I think there is plenty of scope for another bike shop in DBN, as long as you're good. The existing ones are all ****, without exception.
  24. Love the black and yellow. Not seen the colour scheme before! NICE!
  25. I with Millar on this one, let the man enjoy himself. Who cares. I am however a little suspicious of his results... If it seems a little too good to be true, it probably is!
