  1. Correction. I have been refunded already.
  2. I definitely never received a TSA card. I emailed Charne after seeing your post and she says they will refund me (hasnt come through yet) - but its the athletes responsibility and next time I wont be so lucky.
  3. More beneficial than doing nothing? Yes As Rob said....I'd rather run than use one of those stationery ones If there is a spinning class just go use one of those and ignore the instructor (note this does tend to irk some of them)
  4. 100%. you just have to hope the spinning bike you want to use doesnt have the nose of the saddle point up at a 45 degree angle.....who is comfortable sitting on that? Almost need to take a water bottle, towel, and set of spanners along with you to adjust some of those bizarre setups
  5. Sweet. R30 bucks but I've sent a mail. Thats 1.5 Gu's
  6. If you have to train in the gym I would say go for the spinning bikes. Just so much more comfortable, position more like your actual bike, and resistance training better. Doing your own interval training on hte spinning bike (2x20, 5x6, etc) much better than a spinning class.
  7. 1.) why i'm holding back on entering hoping for sponsor to step in (not all that likely though I dont think) 2.) you're confusing 70.3 and IM here
  8. My first 70.3 Entered in April.
  9. I rode from Something Country on Saturday (its on the same loop as the Lion and Rhino place really) and I did a 50km loop and then a 35km after that so really depends on where you turn off etc
  10. Extra incentive to miss all potholes....you dont want to test it any more than absolutely necessary
  11. Sweet. Will definitely give you a call. I think the crack is definitely where the alu is bonded to the carbon but like you mentioned above....why would the paint crack if there wasnt something going on there. Not keen for it to give out while I'm in the drops trying to beat my land speed record.
  12. Best tire review post I've read in awhile. Just replaced my rear "The Captain" (Specialized tire that was on the bike when I bought it) with a Crossmark (cos it was cheap. Contemplating replacing the front too (I have a spare crossmark in the cupboard) If the grip is rubbish I'll try another combo. I am allergic to punctures though so I'll take a heavier/slower tire over one that punctures easily any day.
  13. Thanks bud. Not keen to turn my pinarello into a chinarello though so it'll have to be the real deal
  14. yeah I "tested" the weakness and there doesn't seem to be any give so fingers crossed its just paint
  15. Found a small crack on the bottom of my fork. Obviously cant leave it. Can it be fixed? If so where in JHB should I go? Talk about a rollercoaster of a day...AM got paid out by SARS...PM worst nightmare when inspecting my frame.
  16. I'm skipping this one and I'll do the one in JHB instead. Main reason for skipping is I've read a couple posts about swimming in 1m of water. Dont know why but it really put me off. Cant wait for race season...come on already!
  17. I find if I dont eat then I dont crave. As soon as I eat once then I want all the time. Key to not eating...as mentioned before dont keep in the house. My last binge was R100s worth of Speckled Eggs (it fills a large Danone Yoghurt tub in case you were wondering) With that in the house I ate until finished. Loved it.
  18. You can buy a bag of chips but you can't buy experience.
  19. Yeah I've done this. Turned right at the circle and ran down the hill to the circle at the bottom of Satellite hill - turning around and running back up was not so much fun Only disadvantage for me is that Broadacres is closer. But safety is an issue
  20. Thanks
  21. Perfect. Thanks. Kinda wish the hill was in the first 5km but I guess if it was easy everyone would do it.
  22. I normally ride from Broadacres out to the cradle and back. Wanting to stick a run on the back of the ride on Saturday.....where's the best route from Broadacres? Cedar road is ridiculously busy with cars at that time. Should I rather park and run somewhere else? Your advice please.
  23. i have the same superstition about race shirts. Never remove them from the packaging until race is done.
  24. Where do Jonno and Gerhard work from? I mean which area in jhb? I'm in Illovo but all coaches seem to be in Fourways area - impossible to make it out there during the week
  25. Definitely wouldn't say the route was technical. Maybe some of the ruts abit tough as mentioned by zaruk but pretty easy overall I reckon. Mostly pretty open and fast. It is confirmed though...I'm not a huge fan of unseeded starts.
