  1. As I said earlier that is probably true for South Africa but for people that don't believe the vaccine conspiracies (like most of Europe) the vaccine numbers look pretty healthy. High vaccine mortality rate 😆😆😆😆
  2. Agreed. Covid is a larger threat to South Africans than walking drunk on a highway.
  3. Agreed on the "vaccination through illness" - hopefully enough people get sick/vaxxed to hit herd immunity globally. Fortunately Omicron (seems) less dangerous and more contagious - the perfect combo to vax people really fast! Not sure about the drinking and walking on the highway comparison though. Around 14,000 people a year are killed on SA roads. Covid is on around 50,000 a year....
  4. More reliable data suggests 29% of South African are fully vaccinated and 5% are partially vaccinated: https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations?country=OWID_WRL Most trackers seem to have it as 30% fully vaccinated and 5% partially. Pretty low but not terrible. I never trust informatics - they're far too easy to fake.
  5. It is amazing how populations' trust of government and general outlook on life changes shapes their decisions. Over here everyone has taken their boosters at exactly the time the government recommended.
  6. It might be 40-70% in total but I have only found LLDs significant enough to require intervention in less than 10% of my clients. I'd guess the other 30-60% is in the less than a few mm range.
  7. It will indeed. The graphic is wrong though - the 175mm crank will effectively be 172.5mm at bottom dead centre and 177.5mm at top dead centre. Practically it shouldn't affect much as meaningful power only starts at around the 2-3'o'clock position. It is all theoretical though - I would not recommend anyone doing this!
  8. That should be in comic sans - NEVER do anywhere near max when you are sick/recovering.
  9. Mathematics versus Emotion! You can do it - Stack the cleat on the 175mm crank using a 2.5m spacer. Job done. I wouldn't do it though 😁😁😁 The only practical thing I can think of is that it would change your foot position over the pedal axle as you pedal. The Engineer in me says goes for it. The Bikefitter is screaming NOOOOO!
  10. Chip your bike to 45kph, place family members at strategic points along the course with spare batteries then meet them at the finish for a 5 course meal before rolling across the line for your 3:50:01. Imagine the adulation you'll receive along the way! Make sure it is an mtb for extra adulation points. Roadies love being passed by mtbs.
  11. That red! 😍😍😍
  12. Wow! Nerves of steel in the break and their fear of Trentin was well founded....
  13. Wow! What a weekend of racing. Great rides by WvA and Vingegaard. Exciting racing all round. Good to see Jakobsen rscing and winning without fear after his ordeal. Slight downer seeing the veteran doper still winning but not enough to overshadow an otherwise awesome weekend of racing. If this is how it starts bring on the rest of the classics!
  14. Well damn that was a little ominous! As Frosty said - not 100% and smashing the contenders. He also said he skipped cx workds because he didn't want to peak too soon this year.... Jaaaaysus!
  15. I think the mewing kittens would disagree with your name calling statement. The petty small man would probably also disagree. Back to the square one for your enlightenment process.
  16. See now this is the kind of stupidity I can get behind - anybody who completes the CTCT on a 26kg commuter bike (with or without a motor) will happily get a pat on the back and a beer or 10 from me at the finish!
  17. You're starting to sound like an ex smoker. Keen to tell us how enlightened and non judgmental you are, calling for inclusivity.....whilst name calling and judging people who don't agree with you. Maybe we should be practising what we preach instead of preaching?
  18. I hire electric cars all the time so I'm down. I like to drive them close to the bike lane leaning out the window telling ebikers that their egos are fragile because I beat them.
  19. The vast majority of those ebikes will never see a start line because they look like this:
  20. In Hollywood a 1 in a 1,000,000 chance happens 9 times out of 10 🙂
  21. 100%. Maybe all ebike riders should get a finishing tee shirt that says " I rode 82% of the CTCT"....
  22. But #aerogainz!!!
  23. This year I am finally going to achieve my goal of finishing the Midmar Mile!
  24. The big question is...how many ebikers are going to have the patience to ride a 3:50 Argoost? That is pretty darn pedestrian even without a boost up the hills!
  25. Everybody is drunk textdriving these days 🙂 Smack my lips damnit....
