  1. Were you flashing some leg? Always helps.
  2. There is a Momsen SS frame that is great value.
  3. Was thinking about how Nike, Trek, Oakley et al scored. Reaping the benefits of LA and his band of merry cheats without any risk.
  4. You learn something every day.
  5. That is good news. Will give you a call.
  6. I have been led to believe that the Ritchey and Niner are 10k+. Lovely bikes but a bit steep I think. That is almost in custom frame territory.
  7. In the price range I am looking at I would want a ss specific frame and not have to use a chain tensioner.
  8. Will check them out, thanks.
  9. I already have one. Thanks for the offer. Looking for something a bit more exotic but not astronomical.
  10. Looking for a SS Mtb frame. Budget in the region of 5 to 10k. The more the frame, the less goes into the rest of the bike. Any suggestions?
  11. This guy's clearly never been to Africa.
  12. USADA following this thread with much interest.
  13. Sorry but dont know the latest on this topic.
  14. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/26605-emmarentia-gardens-fencing-the-cyclists-out/page__st__-16#entry7 As I said earlier, this was a while back.
  15. From what I heard from the resident's meetings with Joburg Parks, no. The dam side of the park was to be separated from the South side and access is to be from the respective car parks. Technically you could ride around but not shoot straight through. I am not exactly sure how long ago this was but fencing had commenced and was halted due to opposition to the scheme. The fence that was erected was on the western side by the nurseries and admin buildings. I am pretty sure there was a thread on thehub about this.
  16. Interesting. Are your new rotors the same make? Wondering if the thickness of a rotor affects where the pads rest and after excessive wear they sit where there is just enough friction to squeel.
  17. Been going on for years. They want to split the park up into dog turd and turd free areas hence a fence going up. Part of it is up on the west side.
  18. That's just crap service. If you have to brown nose the guy on top to get what you need it means the service people down below arent doing their jobs. Why do we see good service as a bonus? You paid good money for a product and it should work. Now!
  19. Handmade custom. Not too bad.
  20. Thank you. Just need confirmation on entry and run this past the doc and I'll give you a shout.
  21. I am 1.79. I would guess about a 54? Been 20 plus years since I rode a skinny bike. Been on fat takkies since but don't think I have enough gas in the tank for a mountain bike. Thanks for the offers. Busy checking if the entry is still available. If not I might ride for another. I feel cancer fighters and survivors need a new face. My bangles will be blue.
  22. So it looks like I will be committing to ride the 94.7 for charity. I am only half was through my chemo regime so this ride will present quite a challenge. Is there anybody to he is willing to assist me with a good road bike to help me on my way? Perhaps a bike shop or agent with some top end demo?
  23. Have a look at widgit.com.au
  24. Fine dust?
  25. Haven't read any subsequent posts but here's my take on CM Jo'burg. It's a fun night out on the bike. Really cool to see so many cyclists turn up in a fantastic mood. The ride splinters very quickly and is difficult to control with such good attendance. Jumping robots, disobeying traffic laws and pissing off motorists (a large number to enjoy the show though) becomes a common occurence. The party at the end is pretty cool. Does it send a message? I'm not so sure. Is it fun? Definitely. Will I ride again? Yes? Will I get mates to tag along? Yes. Would I recommend you try start it up in PE? Most definitely.
