  1. Not sure which one you got but mine is very uncomfortable for my daughter when going offroad. I recomend an initial short test ride to see how your daughters and trailer handle the conditions.
  2. Took up Pilates a few years back which did wonders for my posture and strength on the bike. No more numb hands, lower back pain.
  3. I disagree with you. There is no accreditation in the cycling industry that I know of. Most other technical trades have fallen away too or are difficult to get into. I would use your restaurant analogy more as a trainee chef working in a reputable restaurant kitchen. What other opportunities do you know of to try get into the mechanical side of cycling. Retail environment doesnt offer this I am afraid.

  5. Bikebits.co.za they are in Jozi.
  6. In a room with walls plastered in old egg crates.
  7. Around 9 k for the frame.
  8. Coolheat have a moondust sir9 L. I'm looking for a medium. I'm pretty sure they have kermit green too.
  9. Merthiolate and then some dubbin to prevent it cracking and peeling when drying out.
  10. Returning calls would be a good start.
  11. Fantastic. Sadly this good story wont receive as much attention as the bad news ones.
  12. Been off the bike for quite a while and havent been up there. I used to join from the West through the hole in the fence and ride East dropping down the very rocky gap down to Beyers.
  13. Yup. Kaarkloof 2007. Took about 5 months to figure out the reason for the pain. Physio misdiagnosed at first, sold me an expensive rubber ball and sent me packing. Still causes me discomfort today. I ride Shimano dual control. Best ever. Better than grip shift where you will still need to grip underside with your thumb. I might be changing my setup now that the pain is going. Yes, it stays for a long time. If u r keen on my dc, give me a shout.
  14. Venture a bit further to Melville Koppies. Go in a group.

  16. What happened to the trail across Morning Hill?
  17. Pretty much what a carbon bike is isnt it.
  18. What about chrome vanadium?
  19. And you could destroy it all on one muddy ride.
  20. Great mag. Nicely laid out and easy to read. Reading a few digital mags on my iPad (Dirt, MBUK, Singletrack) and fin them difficult to read. They are so busy with the pages cluttered with little text boxes and pics. Much like the creative guys doing adventure sport programmes/videos where you cant actually see whats happening through all the effects.
  21. Ride her.
  22. Nice. I have a feeling it will be steep. Also looked at a Ventana El Comandante but was above my max price.
  23. So my shortlist is: 1. Yeti Big Top (Apart from good reviews it is a brand I have a long history with) 2. Niner Sir 9 (I like the brand and the reviews I have read are encouraging. Haven't looked ata availability yet) 3. Ritchey P29 (The colour scheme is a major stumbling block for me. I wouldnt discount it but it just doesnt fire me up. A plainer colour scheme would probably have me putting it at the top) Others, Cotic, Swift, Momsen Dangle, I hope you're not right about putting gears on this thing.
  24. Were you flashing some leg? Always helps.
  25. There is a Momsen SS frame that is great value.
