I fractured elbow in 2008, doc gave me choice of sling or cast. I went cast cause i know they was no way my arm was going to be in the sling. Best decesion i made as i havent had a days issue with it since it came out the cast. Injury was from mtb, joined a slow road group and rode with cast on to keep fitness up

Ive ordered a set of each to have a look at, will let you know when they get here

Why dont you fix the tyre and then you wont have any issues with the plug ? Take dental floss and a sewing needle, sew the hole closed. Depending size of hole you can stick a patch on the inside of the tyre otherwise sealant should do the job if the hole was small
